In order to perform synchronization and compensate clock drift among a plurality of communication devices interconnected to form a mesh communications network, all communication devices, except one given communication device, perform a first distributed consensus-based synchronization. The given communication device performs: obtaining a first correction information derived at least from a difference between a clock timing resulting from the first distributed consensus-based synchronization and a reference clock timing; and transmitting the first correction information through the mesh communications network. All the communication devices, except said given communication device, further perform updating the clock timing resulting from the first distributed consensus-based synchronization by taking into account the transmitted first correction information.

A method and apparatus for adjusting the transmission power of signals transferred by at least one home base station through a wireless interface to a mobile device, the at least one home base station being located in the cell of a base station. The transmission power is adjusted by first performing an inter cell interference coordination procedure including determining at least one high interference reference zone for the at least one home base station. Then the signal transmission power adjustment for the at least one home base station is determined to ensure a given outage probability that a given function g representing the mobile terminal performance degradation is lower than or equal to a threshold value in the high interference reference zone around the at least one home base station.

A method of designing a IEEE 802.11n modem starting from a IEEE 802.11a/g modem using a programmable FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) based on a half length FFT core, modifies data in a reception chain implemented in a IEEE 802.11n standard application. The method uses a N/2 FFT which is validated, along with a wrapper; and, extends and applies the validated N/2 FFT, (e.g., 64 FFT) to a N FFT (e.g., 128 FFT) by splitting the N FFT into two smaller first and second FFTs. The first FFT is applied to selected data samples (e.g., even samples) from the N FFT and the second FFT is applied to remaining data samples (e.g., odd samples) from the N FFT to complete data-handling, wherein the extending step is based on Danielson-Lanczos formula using a reduced number of Cordics. The method is also suitable for IFFT computations in IEEE 802.11n MIMO OFDM modem designs.
