Abstract: An apparatus and method for selecting a plurality of terminal devices for uplink and downlink transmissions are described. A first terminal device is selected from a first group of terminal devices. A reinforcement learning agent is used for selecting the first terminal device based at least on data rates of the terminal devices of the first group and data rates of the terminal devices of a second group. The selected first terminal device is transferred from the first group of terminal devices to the second group of terminal devices. One group of terminal devices is scheduled for downlink transmission and the other group of terminal devices is scheduled for uplink transmission.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a machine learning (ML)-based receiver that is invariant to the number of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers it processes. The ML-based receiver is configured, for each MIMO layer, to obtain a set of intermediate estimates by performing an equalization operation based on channel information and an array of symbols received over the MIMO layers, and to obtain a set of final estimates for the array of symbols by using a layer-associated block of a ML model. Each layer-associated block of the ML model is configured to receive the set of intermediate estimates as input data and output the set of final estimates. The layer-associated blocks are configured operate in parallel and exchange weights between each other during a training phase. In some embodiments, the layer-associated blocks may be further configured to exchange the input data between each other during the training and inference phases.

Abstract: Radio transmitter devices and related methods and computer programs are disclosed. Uplink channel information is received at a radio transmitter device. The radio transmitter device determines resource element specific precoding matrices for a downlink channel based on the received uplink channel information. The neural network includes at least one neural network layer executable to process the received uplink channel information to output the resource element specific precoding matrices for the downlink channel.

Abstract: A method for an apparatus in a communications network is provided.
