A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes providing a primary secondary cell by a second node for a user equipment operating in dual connectivity with a first node and the second node; and receiving a request from the user equipment requesting that the primary secondary cell provide the functionality of a primary cell for the user equipment when a radio link between the user equipment and a primary cell provided by the first node is lost.

A method is provided for controlling radio measurements of a user equipment within a cellular network system served by a cell of a first cell type characteristic, the cell being assigned to a base station, wherein the cellular network system comprises the cell and at least one further cell of a second cell type characteristic, the method including providing a configuration to the user equipment indicative for parameters to be applied for radio measurements including different parameters being assigned to different cell type characteristics for a same frequency, and controlling the radio measurements of the user equipment based on the provided configuration, wherein the configuration comprises a list comprising information of the at least one further cell and an associated cell type characteristic of the at least one further cell, and wherein the list comprises information about a plurality of neighboring cells and associated cell types characteristics.

A method and apparatus may include estimating a metric value relating to a first user equipment and an access point, without relying on actual data transmitted by the access point to the first user equipment. The method may also include estimating a quality degradation to the at least one second user equipment if at least part of the traffic of the first user equipment is routed to the access point. The method may also include performing routing of at least part of the traffic of the first user equipment based on the estimated metric value and the estimated degradation.

It is described a method for controlling radio measurements of a user equipment within a cellular network system, wherein the user equipment is served by a cell of a first cell type characteristic, the cell being assigned to a base station, wherein the cellular network system includes the cell and at least one further cell of a second cell type characteristic. The method includes providing, by the base station, a radio measurement configuration to the user equipment, wherein the radio measurement configuration is indicative for parameters to be applied by the user equipment for radio measurements, the radio measurement configuration includes different parameters being assigned to different cell type characteristics, and controlling the radio measurements of the user equipment based on the provided radio measurement configuration.
