    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to sidelink positioning session establishment. In an aspect, a terminal device obtains session information associated with a first sidelink positioning session, and determines, based on the session information, difference information between the first sidelink positioning session and a second sidelink positioning session in which the terminal device is a target device. The terminal device transmits a positioning request for determining at least one anchor device to perform the second sidelink positioning session, wherein the positioning request comprises the difference information. The terminal device performs the second sidelink positioning session with the at least one anchor device. The embodiments of the present disclosure can immediately activate the target device in an efficient manner with reduced signaling overhead and latency.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a terminal device for performing the following. The terminal device maintains, in a memory, configurations of downlink and uplink reference signals. In response to receiving a configuration of a coupling relationship between the downlink and uplink reference signals from an access node, the terminal device stores it to the memory. The terminal device measures, in response to receiving the downlink reference signal from the access node, the downlink reference signal. The terminal device determines whether a radio channel between the terminal device and the access node meets one or more pre-defined criteria. If the one or more pre-defined criteria are not met, the terminal device determines an adjusted transmission mode for the uplink reference signal. If the adjusted transmission mode determines one or more transmission parameters, the terminal device transmits the uplink reference signal to the access node using the adjusted transmission mode.

The network element selects a first implementation of the plurality of implementations to perform the respective task based on available resources for the network element to perform the respective task relative to the required allocation of resources to perform the respective task in accordance with the first implementation. The network element performs the respective task in accordance with the first implementation. The network element causes transmission, to the network node, of information indicative of the first implementation selected to perform the respective task.
