    摘要: A radio terminal and a radio communication system using the same, which enables power saving, the improvement of the quality of real-time communication such as voice communication, and a reduction of packet delay. An intermittent receiving interval for each radio terminal is set according to the operation mode of each application running on the radio terminal. Consequently, the intermittent receiving interval can be changed in cooperation with the operation mode of each application. Thus, power-saving control for the radio terminal can be carried out precisely. In addition, the radio terminal can assign priorities to data transmitted from the radio base station. The priorities are set according to the operation mode of each application running on the radio terminal, and the packets of real-time communication can be transmitted preferentially.

    摘要: A power saving method in a wireless LAN system is disclosed for permitting a terminal station to promptly transition to a doze state irrespective of the presence or absence of data destined to the terminal station in a base station. Upon receipt of a PS-Poll signal from a terminal station subordinate to a base station for prompting a transmission of data destined to the terminal station, the base station transmits an ACK signal to the terminal station for indicating a successful reception of the PS-Poll signal. Further, the base station transmits a data frame including data destined to the terminal station when there is such data, or transmits an empty data frame when there is no data destined to the terminal station. Then, upon receipt of the data frame (including the empty data frame), the terminal station transmits an ACK signal to the base station, and then transitions to the doze state in which a transmission/reception function is made inoperative.

    摘要: A fishing reel has a brake apparatus disposed between a reel body and a spool shaft. The brake apparatus includes a rotary element mounted on the spool shaft to be rotatable relative thereto and to the reel body, a first brake mechanism for transmitting a braking force from the reel body to the rotary element, and a second brake mechanism for transmitting the braking force from the rotary element to the spool shaft. When the spool reaches a maximum rotating speed, rotating speed of the rotary element does not increase greatly since the first brake mechanism slips due to inertia of the rotary element. Subsequently, the rotating speed of the rotary element increases with lapse of time. As a result, the first brake mechanism effectively applies a braking force to the spool after the spool reaches the maximum speed.

A protector having (1) a first cover portion covering the fishing line guide from above, (2) a second cover portion covering the front of the line guide, and (3) a line passing bore having a width larger than the reciprocation stroke of the line guide is supported across a pair of opposite side frames of the reel. The protector is slidable between a first position and a second position and is swingable relative to the side frames of the reel, when located at the first position, between a covering position and an open position with respect to the line guide. The protector is retained to the side frames at the covering position so that the protector is released from the side frames by sliding motion, thereby protecting the fishing line guide while maintaining easy access to the line guide to thread line therethrough.
