By adjusting a refrigerant holding quantity of a first heat exchanger in such a manner that a refrigerant pressure of the first heat exchanger 13 is changed by operating a first decompressor 12 and a second decompressor 15, an imbalance of a refrigerant quantity between time for space cooling and time for heating or dehumidifying can be alleviated and hence, it is possible to perform an operation of the refrigerating cycle device with high efficiency with a miniaturized receiver or without providing the receiver.

To provide a refrigerating cycle apparatus which uses carbon dioxide as a working medium, in which a problem associated with reliability arisen from introduction of water into a refrigeration cycle has been solved.Carbonic acid produced by a reaction of carbon dioxide or a mixed refrigerant including carbon dioxide and water is efficiently removed by providing a flow channel of the refrigeration cycle with a carbonic acid trapping agent, and consequently, the refrigerating cycle apparatus with high reliability which can prevent deterioration of a carbon dioxide refrigerant, decomposition of a refrigeration oil, corrosion of metal components or the like is constructed.

A multi-system air conditioner comprises an exterior unit including a compressor and a plurality of interior units, each being installed in a room and including a heat exchanger and an expansion valve therefor. An opening degree of the expansion valve in an interior unit is controlled based on not only the superheat degree of the compressor but also the room temperature difference. Further, the control based on the superheat degree is carried out by means of the fuzzy logical calculation on superheat degree value. A rotational speed of the compressor is controlled based on not only the load capacity of the room but also the room temperature difference. Further, a control based on the fuzzy logical calculation on the pressure value is added. A feed forward control is also added so as to shorten the transient time.
