摘要: A laminated sheet cutting method and apparatus for making consistent cuts partially through a laminated sheet without requiring high precision control of the cutter cutting depth are provided. The method for cutting partially through an adhesive tape comprising a base tape and a backing paper cuts only the base tape of the adhesive tape to a particular planar shape without cutting the backing paper. The adhesive tape is placed on a flexible member with the backing paper of the adhesive tape in contact with flexible member. The adhesive tape is held immobile on flexible member. The cutter having a beveled cutting edge is then pressed into the flexible member with the leading edge of the cutting edge descending to a specific cutting depth. The cutter is moved relative to the adhesive tape to cut only the base tape.

摘要: This invention provides a separation method for an adhesive tape and a separation device that can reliably and efficiently perform the operation of removing the backing sheet from the adhesive sheet of the adhesive tape and can be automated with a simple structure. The adhesive tape comprises a base sheet, an adhesive sheet which is applied to the base sheet and a backing sheet laminated to the base sheet. According to the invention, one end of the adhesive tape is supported leaving that end as a free end. Separation means is used to bend the free end in the direction from a first surface of the adhesive tape to a second surface of the adhesive tape until slippage occurs between the adhesive sheet and backing sheet. While in this state, the separation means is withdrawn from the adhesive tape as it traces the end surface at the free end. Thus, the backing sheet is removed from the adhesive tape and can be affixed to an object.

摘要: The invention provides a structure in which an adhesion means that rotates, rocks, or reciprocates is pressed onto at least one side of an adhesive tape. The peel-off backing is subsequently removed from a base material of the adhesive tape by applying force on the adhesion means in the direction that separates the peel-off backing from the base material. The relative magnitudes of adhesive strengths are important, and the use of means such as end adhesion, end creasing, and slight delamination increase the effectiveness of the structure. After delamination, separation hooks separate the elements from the adhesion means.

摘要: There is provided a printing apparatus for printing on a continuous tape. When a portion of a continuous tape having passed a thermal head is cut at a predetermined cutting position, a stepping motor is caused to stop driving the platen roller for rotation to stop feeding of the tape, and then the tape is cut off. During tape-cutting operation, the stepping motor is held in an energized state. When the printing operation is resumed after stopping the feeding and printing of the tape, the thermal head is caused to print on a portion of the tape printed by an immediately preceding printing operation by the thermal head, in an overlapping manner, by the use of identical printing data or printing data for a next line of dots.

摘要: There are provided a print image-forming method and device. Print image data of a dot matrix is formed in which print portions are represented by positive dots and blank portions are represented by negative dots. Basic image data formed in a manner such that when the basic image data is developed into a dot matrix, a group of image pixels formed by one of a set of positive dots and a set of negative dots is capable of representing a basic image, is read from a memory device. Developed image data item representative of the basic image is formed by developing the basic image data read from the memory device into a dot matrix which is smaller in size than the dot matrix of the print image data in at least one predetermined direction of a vertical direction and a horizontal direction. At least one shifted image data is formed by shifting the developed image data item by units of dots in the predetermine direction, and the print image data is formed by causing the developed image data item and the at least one shifted image data, to be superposed, upon one another, in a manner such that the group of image pixels overrides background pixels.

摘要: A character information processor which can be applied to a tape printing device. The character information processor is provided with a read-only memory in which a table containing the levels of alternatives of a menu hierarchical structure set correspondingly to each edition function is stored. When an edition level is selected by an operator by keying, only edition operations, which are available at the selected edition level, are displayed on the screen of a display unit as choices. An example of the function of editing a character string is a function for enabling the restoration of a text, on which an edition operation such as an input operation and a deleting operation has been once performed. This function is implemented by providing a restoration buffer in the processor and by storing a character or a character string, on which an operation is performed, and a cause-for-restoration parameter representing a kind of an operation in the processor each time when an operation such as an input and a deletion is performed, and by performing a restoration operation according to the cause-for-restoration parameter. Further, regarding an operation of editing a printing layout, the processor has an operation of performing a text alignment by converting a full-size space, which is inputted by keying similarly as in the case of an ordinary character, into a half-size space to be treated as a space of a size, which is half of the size of a full-size character, when printing.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for driving and controlling a thermal head used in a printing device, such as a tape printer, in response to the temperature variations of the printing device environment and the thermal head. According to the present invention, in the printing operation of the tape printer, measurements are made of the initial temperature T1 immediately after the power is switched on, the temperature prior to printing T2, and the ambient temperature of the thermal head each time the thermal head prints T3 (i). If the temperature difference between the initial temperature T1 and the temperature prior to printing T2 is small, the duration of the current signals provided to the thermal head is controlled in accordance with the temperature prior to printing T2, which is the most recently measured thermal head ambient temperature best reflecting the printing device environmental temperature. If the difference is large, the duration is controlled in accordance with the initial temperature T1 which then best reflects the environmental temperature. If the rate of the increase in temperature during printing T3(i) is large, the duration is controlled in accordance with the initial temperature T2 to reduce the duration. If the temperature during printing T3(i) exceeds a temperature which indicates overheating, the printing operation is aborted. Thus, the present invention allows for controlling the thermal head drive by means of the measured thermal head ambient temperature excluding the effect of the heat generation of the thermal head and in accordance with the thermal state of the thermal head.

摘要: A background pattern print image-forming method and device are provided. A plurality of kinds of unit background pattern image data formed of a dot matrix which defines a group of image-forming dots representative of a unit printing portion of a background pattern to be printed on a printing object are stored in a memory device. One kind of unit background pattern image data from the plurality of kinds of unit background pattern image data stored in the memory device is selected as a unit background pattern tile. The selected unit background pattern tile is read from the memory device, and modified to thereby form a different kind of unit background pattern image data from the selected one kind of unit background pattern image data. The different kind of unit background pattern image data is arranged in a manner such that the background pattern is formed, to thereby form background pattern print image data.
