摘要: Provided are barrier films, packaging products including barrier films, and methods of making paper/packaging products including barrier films. The barrier films can have antimicrobial properties and can include nanofibrillated cellulose treated with hemp extractives. The nanofibrillated cellulose can be obtained from autohydrolysed hemp pulp. The antimicrobial packaging products or paper products can be made by obtaining pulp fibers from autohydrolyzed hemp hurds, mechanically grinding the pulp fibers to obtain nanofibrillated cellulose, solvent casting the nanofibrillated cellulose films in an aqueous system, treating the nanofibrillated cellulose films with hemp extractives, and applying the hemp extractive treated films to a substrate.

摘要: Tissue paper of the disclosure exhibits advantageous softness and bulk at a basis weight less than that of basis weights found in currently available commercial tissue products, while delivering adequate strength for machine runability and consumer usage. This tissue is a lightweight paper that comprises a fiber core with up to 60% mechanically fibrillated fibers and a retention or drainage aid such as a cationic polyacrylamide polymer that facilitates drainage, softness, and bulk. This approach can reduce the fiber content of tissue products significantly while delivering the desired strength and other critical properties.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for directly measuring the color of transparent polymer particles. A composite liquid, comprising a transparent liquid with nanoparticles and matching the refractive index of the polymer, can be used to mitigate the light scattering due to the roughness of the particles surface. The method can be applied to copolyester particles, such as copolyester pellets.

摘要: Provided herein is an uncoated functional paper formed from a slurry comprising about 10 wt % to 90 wt % cellulosic fibers and about 1% to 25% sizing solution per total weight of the fibers. The sizing solution can be applied during papermaking and/or applied in a size press or coater. The paper can be calendered at a temperature greater than 50° C. Methods of making are also provided. Also provided are flexible electronics including a functional paper substrate printed with a conductive ink.

The process can comprise providing a cellulose derivative in a solvent; and mixing a lignocellulosic material and/or a cellulosic material into the solvent. The lignocellulosic material and/or the cellulosic material can comprise 90% of particles ranging from 0.01 to 5 mm in size. The lignocellulosic material and/or the cellulosic material can be derived from a biomass residue.
