Abstract: An endoscope system includes a light source apparatus configured to generate first/second illumination light, an image pickup apparatus, a switching instruction device configured to be able to set one of a first observation mode in which an image obtained by image pickup of an object illuminated with the first illumination light is displayed and a second observation mode in which an image obtained by processing a color/pattern of an image obtained by image pickup of the object illuminated with the second illumination light is displayed and a processor configured to calculate a feature value indicating movement of a distal end portion of an endoscope and disable an instruction for setting the second observation mode when the feature value is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: An endoscope system includes a light source configured to generate either one of first illumination light and second illumination light, an image pickup apparatus configured to obtain an image by picking up an image of an object, and a processor. The processor is configured to make an instruction to set an observation mode of the endoscope system at either one of a first observation mode and a second observation mode, detect an observation state at a time of observing the object based on a feature value calculated from pixel values included in pixels forming a first image, and invalidate an instruction to set the observation mode of the endoscope system at the second observation mode when the observation state at the time of observing the object is not an appropriate observation state.

Abstract: A scanning endoscope includes: an optical fiber that guides light emitted from a light source section, and emits the light from a distal end; an actuator that expands and contracts to scan with the light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber; a ferrule that transmits, to the optical fiber, force corresponding to the expansion and contraction of the actuator; a ferrule holding part that holds the ferrule; a lens holding part that is formed of a cylindrical member provided outside the optical fiber along the optical fiber, and holds a lens, the lens receiving the light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber; and an absorption part that absorbs vibration, in a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical member, of at least one of the ferrule holding part and the lens holding part.
