Abstract: A passenger conveyor, comprises: an endless tread band, the endless tread band comprising a plurality of treads, at least one endless drive chain, the drive chain being driven around a first and a second turnaround section by means of a drive, the drive chain comprising a plurality of drive chain links, each of the drive chain links having associated thereto a respective drive chain roller, consecutive of the drive chain links being connected via the drive chain rollers, a plurality of the treads being connected to the drive chain, and at least one panel member located on a lateral side of the treads such as to be movable with respect to the treads, the at least one panel member being supported such as to remain stationary with respect to one of the drive chain links, wherein each of the treads is associated with a plurality of consecutive panel members.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of passenger conveyor technologies, and provides an engaging state detection system of a passenger conveyor and a detection method thereof. In the engaging state detection system and detection method of the present invention, a depth sensing sensor is used to sense at least an engaging portion between a step and a comb plate of the passenger conveyor to obtain depth maps, and the depth maps are analyzed by a processing apparatus to detect whether an engaging state between the step and the comb plate is a normal state. The detection of the engaging state includes detection on whether comb teeth of the comb plate are broken, whether engaging teeth of the step are broken, and/or whether a foreign matter exists on an engaging line.

Abstract: A passenger conveyor includes an endless tread band having a plurality of treads. At least one endless drive chain is driven around a first and a second turn around section by a drive. Abstract: Passenger conveyors with auxiliary brake systems are disclosed. The passenger conveyors include a truss that rotatably supports a loop sprocket at one end and a turnaround at an opposite end with an endless loop extending around the loop sprocket and the turnaround. The loop includes a plurality of rollers linked together. The truss is also coupled to a brake bar that has a braking surface, a downstream end and an upstream end. The brake bar is suspended above and biased towards the loop sprocket with the downstream end of the brake bar disposed a greater distance from the loop than the upstream end of the brake bar. A friction bar, which includes a first side that mateably engages the loop when placed onto the loop, is also provided that includes a top. The friction bar is suspended above the loop by an actuator, which is linked to a controller. The controller sends a signal to the actuator to place the first side of the friction bar onto a section of the loop as the section of the loop passes beneath the downstream end of the brake bar. As the friction bar passes between the loop and the brake bar, frictional engagement between the flat side of the friction bar and the braking surface of the brake bar brakes, impedes the movement of or simply stops the loop.
