For servicing the electrical equipment the travelator is stopped and closed to traffic; the entry ramp and/or departure ramp, which contains the electrical equipment requiring servicing, is detached from the travelator; a new or serviced entry ramp and/or departure ramp is connected to the travelator; the entry ramp and/or departure ramp requiring servicing is transported away from the travelator for servicing at the servicing site; and the travelator is started and opened to traffic.

    摘要： There is provided a conveyor apparatus free of pulsing motion in circulating chains to provide a comfortable ride quality on steps. A conveyor apparatus 1 includes a step guide rail 3, a plurality of steps 5, a step chain 4, and a chain driving mechanism 10 for driving the step chain 4. The chain driving mechanism 10 includes a rotating and driving unit 11, a driving sprocket 12 which is rotated by a driving force given by the rotating and driving unit 11, and circulating chain 13 for giving a thrust to the step chain 4. The circulating chain 13 has chain links 13a and hinges 13b to be connected to the adjacent chain links 13a. The chain link 13a includes a placing surface 13c on which the step roller 4b is placed, and pressing surfaces 13d and 13d that are in contact with step rollers 4b.

A handrail comprises a handrail frame and an endless handrail belt mounted on the handrail frame and arranged as a loop having an upper handhold portion that a passenger can grip with a hand for support and a lower return portion disposed inside the first frame. A number of suspenders are fastened to the first frame at a distance from each other to support the return portion of the handrail belt inside the profiled metallic bodies.

    摘要： A cleaning unit for cleaning travel equipment allows the travel equipment to be shifted from an operating mode to a cleaning mode. The cleaning equipment is an escalator or a moving walkway which has tread units connected with an endless conveyor. The cleaning unit can be mounted as a substitute for a tread unit of the travel equipment during a cleaning sequence and includes cleaning elements. The travel equipment can be shifted from an operating mode to a cleaning mode in which the cleaning equipment is substituted for one or more tread units and the travel equipment operated whereby a cleaning sequence is performed. After cleaning is performed, the equipment is stopped, the cleaning equipment removed, and the removed treads reinstalled.
