Abstract: An optical composite structure includes first, second and third prism sheets. The first prism sheet has a first light incident surface and a first light exit surface opposite to each other. The second prism sheet has a second light incident surface facing the first light exit surface and a second light exit surface opposite to the second light incident surface, and includes a haze layer having the second light incident surface and a prism layer which is stacked on the haze layer and which has the second light exit surface. The third prism sheet has a third light incident surface facing the second light exit surface, and includes a haze layer and a prism layer stacked on the haze layer of the third prism sheet. The haze layer of the third prism sheet has a haze greater than a haze of the haze layer of the second prism sheet.

Abstract: An optical lens device for a head-mounted display includes a transparent support substrate and a Fresnel lens disposed thereon. The Fresnel lens includes a central lens element and a plurality of prismatic elements arranged relative to the central lens element in a proximal-to-distal manner. Each of the prismatic elements has a base facing toward the support substrate, and a draft facet and a sloped facet extending from the base away from the support substrate to intersect with each other to form an apex. Each of the prismatic elements has a height measured from the base to the apex and not greater than 75 μm. The base has a width not greater than 250 μm. A method and a mold for producing the optical lens device are also disclosed.

Abstract: A light guide plate includes a light guide layer and a first microstructure layer. The light guide layer has a light exit surface, a back surface, and a light incidence surface interconnecting the light exit surface and the back surface. The first microstructure layer is disposed on the back surface, and includes a plurality of first microstructures spaced apart from one another. Each first microstructure has a polygonal planar base, and two first inclined faces and two second inclined faces which extend from the planar base, and which are proximal and distal to the light incidence surface, respectively. Each first inclined face intersects the respective second inclined face at a respective first ridge. Each first ridge cooperates with the planar base to form a first angle that ranges from 5 to 70 degrees.

Abstract: A light guide substrate includes first and second triangular prisms juxtaposed to each other on a light exit face thereof. Each of the first and second triangular prisms has a rounded vertex. The number of the first triangular prisms is smaller than the number of the second triangular prisms. Each first triangular prism has a first height from the light exit face. Each second triangular prisms has a second height from the light exit face. The second height is between 20 and 90 percent of the first height. A backlight module includes the aforesaid light guide substrate, a reverse prism sheet disposed on the light guide substrate, and a light emitting unit to emit light rays into the light substrate.

Abstract: An optical prism sheet includes a transparent substrate having a light-entrance surface, and a plurality of elongated prisms that protrude from the transparent substrate. Each of the prisms has a scalene triangular cross-section and first and second surfaces that intersect each other to define an apex angle. The apex angle of each of the prisms is divided by a normal line of the transparent substrate into first and second sub-angles that are different from each other. At least one of the light-entrance surface and the first and second surfaces of each of the prisms is roughened to form a plurality of micro-protrusions, each of which has a height ranging from 0.1 μm to 5 μm.
