The invention relates to a metal oxide film formed on a glass substrate by a sol-gel process. To make the metal oxide film minutely rough, at least two sols are respectively prepared from at least one compound selected from the group consisting of metal alkoxides and metal acetylacetonates, such that polymers of the sols have different average molecular weights. Then, the at least two sols are mixed with a solvent so as to prepare a coating solution. The coating solution is applied to the glass substrate so as to form thereon a sol film. The thus coated glass substrate is heated so as to transform the sol film into a gel film and to form thereon numerous micro-pits.

The disclosure relates to a metal oxide film formed on a glass substrate by the sol-gel process using an alcohol solution of at least one metal alkoxide or acetylacetonato. To afford water repellency to the oxide film, carbon fluoride is dispersed in the metal oxide matrix by thermal decomposition of a fluoroalkylsilane compound, e.g. CF.sub.3 (CF.sub.2).sub.3 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 Si(OCH.sub.3).sub.3. An organic polymer, e.g. polyethylene glycol, is dissolved in the metal alkoxide or acetylacetonato solution, and the solution is applied to the glass substrate to form a sol film. By heating at a temperature not higher than 200.degree. C. the sol film turns into a porous gel film. Next, the porous gel film is impregnated with an alcohol solution of the fluoroalkylsilane compound and then heated at a temperature not lower than 500.degree. C. The obtained oxide film is good in durability and abrasion resistance, and on this film the contact angle of water drop becomes greater than 90 degrees.

In a nozzle touch mechanism for urging a nozzle (3) of an injection unit (1) against a mold (4), the mechanism urges and holds the nozzle (3) against the mold (4) through a simple structure. The threaded portion (11a) of the ball screw (11) of the mechanism is engaged with a ball nut (13) fixed to a pressure plate (12) for moving the injection unit (1) through springs (15a, 15b). When a predetermined flexure of the springs (15a, 15b) is generated to urge the nozzle (3) against the mold (4) with an appropriate urging force, the threaded portion (11a) is disengaged from the ball nut (13) at that point. The threaded portion (11a) holds the injection unit (1) at this position and urges and holds the nozzle (3) against the mold (4) by the flexure of the springs (15a, 15b).
