    Abstract: A shisha device (100) comprises multiple receptacles for receiving a plurality of consumables (20) comprising aerosol-generating substrate. In addition or alternatively, a shisha device comprises an electrical heating element configured to penetrate into an aerosol-generating substrate. Preferably, the shisha devices heat the aerosol-generating substrate in the consumables to an extent sufficient to generate an aerosol without combusting the substrate. The device may include control electronics operably coupled to the heating elements and configured to cause a first heating element to heat an aerosol-generating substrate of a first consumable received by a first receptacle until the aerosol-generating substrate is depleted or nearly depleted prior to causing a second heating element to heat an aerosol-generating substrate of a second consumable received by a second receptacle.

    Abstract: An aerosol generating device is provided, including a vaporiser configured to vaporise an aerosol-forming substrate; a battery connected to the vaporiser a control circuit configured to control a supply of power from the battery to the vaporiser; a memory storing a usage record of the device; and a replacement indicator configured to provide a signal to a user. The control circuit is configured to compare a measured voltage across the battery to a threshold voltage, and to generate an error signal to update the usage record if the measured voltage is less than the threshold voltage during an operation cycle. The control circuit is also configured to access the usage record and to activate the replacement indicator depending on the status of the usage record.

    Abstract: A smoking article having a proximal end and a distal end is provided, including a combustible heat source disposed at the distal end; an aerosol-forming substrate downstream of the combustible heat source; a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate and disposed at the proximal end; and a tubular element, which is slideable from a first position towards the distal end to a second position. In the second position, the tubular element at least partially extends over the combustible heat source and is configured to reduce the air supply to the combustible heat source. The tubular element is configured to modify a heat output of the combustible heat source, and to control a resistance-to-draw of the smoking article by selectively covering air inlets.
