Abstract:
A method for controlling a motor vehicle including equipping the motor vehicle with front and rear tires having a transverse curvature ratio of at least 0.2 and a total height to chord ratio of at least 0.5, where at least one of the tires has an inflation pressure of between 50% and 90% of a low load reference value for normal driving and has a tread and a radial carcass with textile cords, which give the whole of the carcass a controlled elastic response allowing the motor vehicle to be controlled when there are sudden changes in speed and/or direction.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tyre (100) comprising a particular elastomeric compound in the underlayer (111), i.e. in the layer arranged between the tread band (109) and the belt structure (106) of the tyre. According to the invention, the tyre has a considerably reduced rolling resistance compared to known tyres, and at the same time, good road grip, excellent maneuverability and comfort.
Abstract:
A motorcycle tyre with a low void-to-rubber ratio while providing a stiffness suitable for good performance on dry ground and on track. A tread band with grooves is arranged to provide a draining effect without structurally weakening the tread band. According to one aspect, the tread band has a tread pattern with two pairs of grooves having segments or portions that produce a warming effect when the compound of the tread band is cold. The tread band provides grip to the ground and limited local warming when the compound of the tread band is at the operating temperature or when driving on dry ground, to provide stiffness and readiness of response.
Abstract:
A tyre that can be fitted to the front of a motorcycle. The tyre has a high void-to-rubber ratio and includes grooves located asymmetrically across the equatorial plane of the tyre, arranged substantially orthogonally to the equatorial plane of the tyre at the equatorial plane itself. According to one aspect, the grooves are close to one another in the circumferential direction of the tyre to increase their number in a footprint area of the tyre.
Abstract:
A motorcycle tyre intended to be fitted to the rear wheel of a motorcycle. The motorcycle tyre has a tread pattern with a high void-to-rubber ratio that provides a suitable draining. The tread pattern has pairs of primary grooves to carry out the draining function of the tyre, and arranged substantially according to the stress lines of the tyres to reduce the probability of triggering uneven wear. Also included are secondary grooves having a reduced dimension, in terms of both extension and width, arranged between the primary grooves to increase the grip of the tyre to the ground. Orientation of the secondary grooves increases stabilizing features against drift forces acting on the tyre, particularly in low or very low friction conditions.
Abstract:
Motorcycle wheel tyre (1), comprising a carcass structure (2), a belt structure (6) arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure (2) and a tread band (8) arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the belt structure (6). The tread band (8) comprises, in an axially inner annular portion thereof, a pair of circumferential grooves (20) arranged on opposite sides with respect to an equatorial plane (X-X) of the tyre (1). The carcass structure (2) comprises at least one carcass ply (3) having opposite end edges (3a) associated with respective annular reinforcing structures (4) to form respective beads (15). Each bead (15) comprises at least one reinforcing element (18) made of an elastomeric material having a rigidity in a circumferential direction greater than the rigidity in a radial direction.
Abstract:
A motorcycle tyre (1) has a tread band (1) comprising a plurality of grooves that form at least part of a tread pattern including a module (T) replicated along a circumferential direction and having a predetermined circumferential length (Cl). The module (T) comprises a pair of circumferential grooves (20) arranged on opposite sides with respect to the equatorial plane (X-X) of the tyre (1). Such circumferential grooves (20) extend along the circumferential direction for at least part of said predetermined circumferential length (Cl) and define between them a central annular portion (A) of tread band (8) having a void to solid ratio substantially equal to zero and a predetermined axial width (Al). The module (T) further comprises a pair of first lateral annular portions (B) arranged on opposite sides with respect to the equatorial plane (X-X) in an axially outer position with respect to said pair of circumferential grooves (20) and each having a void to solid ratio substantially equal to zero, and a plurality of transversal grooves (30, 31, 32, 33) arranged on opposite sides with respect to the equatorial plane (X-X), in an axially outer position with respect to said pair of first lateral annular portions (B). The tyre (1) has a curvature ratio lower than about 0.4.
