Abstract: An imaging apparatus is attached to a side of a moving body (for example, vehicle). The imaging apparatus includes an image sensor and an optical system that forms a subject image in a range of a predetermined vertical view angle and a predetermined horizontal view angle on an imaging surface. The optical system forms an image on the imaging surface so as to cause resolution in first region (R1) of the imaging surface to be higher than resolution in second region (R2) different from the first region. A position of center (G1) of first region (R1) is at least one of a position horizontally shifted from a center of the horizontal view angle and a position vertically shifted from a center of the vertical view angle.

Abstract: An imaging optical system has an image circle defined on an imaging element. The imaging optical system includes: lens elements arranged from an object side to an image plane side, and a diaphragm arranged between two of the lens elements. The lens elements include freeform lens elements, each having a freeform surface that is an asymmetrical surface with respect to a first cross section and a second cross section, the first cross section being defined by a first direction and an optical axis direction, the second cross section being defined by a second direction and the optical axis direction, the first direction crossing the second direction, and the optical axis direction being orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction. At least two of the freeform lens elements are located on an object side of the diaphragm.

Abstract: A lens system for forming an image of light incident from an object side on an imaging element arranged on an image surface side includes: a plurality of lens elements including free-curved surface lenses; and a diaphragm arranged between the plurality of lens elements. The lens elements form a front group arranged on the object side of the diaphragm, and a rear group arranged on the image surface side of the diaphragm. A first lens element closest to the object side in the plurality of lens elements has an aspherical surface that is rotationally symmetrical. The free-curved surface lenses each has a free-curved surface that is asymmetrical with respect to a first direction and a second direction crossing with each other. A free-curved surface lens satisfying a conditional expression “D×(SV−SH)/IH>0.08” is arranged on the rear group in the plurality of lens elements.

Abstract: Imaging system (70) disposed at a rear part of moving body (100) includes imaging device (10) and image processing device (20). Imaging device (10) includes an imaging element and an optical system. The imaging element has a plurality of pixels arranged in a two-dimensional manner and generates image data. The optical system forms a subject image on an imaging surface of the imaging element. Image processing device (20) generates a captured image based on the image data. The imaging surface includes a first region corresponding to a first view angle and a second region corresponding to a second view angle that is larger than the first view angle. The optical system is configured so that resolution of the first region is higher than resolution of the second region excluding the first region. A center of the first region is disposed at a position deviated from a center of the imaging surface.
