Abstract: A sensor includes circuitry and a memory, wherein the circuitry acquires an N×M first matrix having complex-number transfer function components representing propagation characteristics between a transmit antenna element and a receive antenna element, from N receive signals received by each of M receive antenna elements for a predetermined period. The circuitry extracts a second matrix, corresponding to a predetermined frequency range from the first matrix, representing components influenced by a vital sign, and estimates a position of the organism with respect to the sensor by using the second matrix. The circuitry also calculates a first distance, indicating a distance between the organism and the transmit antenna, and a second distance, indicating a distance between the organism and the receive antenna. The circuitry further calculates a radar cross-section value with respect to the organism, and estimates a posture of the organism.

Abstract: A sensor includes a transmit antenna, a receive antenna, circuitry, and a memory. The transmit antenna includes N transmit antenna elements each transmitting a transmit signal. The receive antenna includes M receive antenna elements each receiving N receive signals including reflection signals reflected by an organism. The circuitry extracts a second matrix corresponding to a predetermined frequency range from an N×M first matrix representing propagation characteristics between each transmit antenna element and each receive antenna element calculated from the receive signals. The circuitry estimates the position of the organism by using the second matrix, and calculates a radar cross-section value with respect to the organism, based on the estimated position and the positions of the transmit antenna and the receive antenna. The circuitry then estimates the posture of the organism by using the calculated radar cross-section value and information indicating associations between radar cross-section values and postures of the organism.

Abstract: A sensor includes: a complex transfer function calculator that calculates a complex transfer function representing propagation characteristics between each N transmission antenna element and each M reception antenna element, using radio waves transmitted as a reception signal in a space where at least one living body is present from each N transmission antenna element and received by each M reception antenna element; a spectrum calculator that: calculates likelihood spectra, each indicating a likelihood of presence of each living body, by an estimation algorithm for estimating the presence from living body information that is a living body component in the complex transfer function, using different values as the number of the at least one living body; and calculates an integrated spectrum by integrating the likelihood spectra calculated; and an estimator that estimates living body information indicating at least the number of living bodies, and outputs the living body information estimated.

Abstract: There is provided an estimation device that estimates a living body orientation. The estimation device includes: transceivers that transmit transmission signals using M transmission antenna elements arranged to surround a predetermined range including a living body, and receive reception signals using N receiving antenna elements; and a circuit that, for each of M sets of N reception signals corresponding to transmitted M transmission signals, performs calculation of a characteristic quantity based on the N reception signals included in the set, the characteristic quantity with a greater value indicating a waveform having a larger amplitude and higher regularity, identifies a first transmission antenna element corresponding to a first characteristic quantity having a greatest value among M characteristic quantities by comparing the M characteristic quantities obtained by the calculation with each other, and estimates the living body orientation to indicate a predetermined direction based on the first transmission antenna element identified.

Abstract: A positioning sensor includes m receiving antennas connected to a feeder circuit and n variable loads, and a receiver that receives a first signal via the m receiving antennas. The positioning sensor further includes a memory that stores a first signal strength value of a first signal that the receiver receives when a variable load varies in value, and a processor that calculates a second signal strength value from a complex propagation channel, searches for a complex propagation channel candidate that has a minimum difference between a first signal strength and a second signal strength, determines the complex propagation channel candidate to be a complex propagation channel when the receiver receives the first signal, and estimates an incoming direction of the first signal from the determined complex propagation channel.

Abstract: An estimating method includes: measuring and receiving reception signals including a reflected signal reflected by a moving body, for a first period equivalent to a cycle of movement of the moving body; calculating first complex transfer functions indicating propagation characteristics, from the reception signals measured in the first period; calculating second complex transfer functions having reduced components corresponding to fluctuations, from the first complex transfer functions; extracting moving body information corresponding to a component related to the moving body by extracting moving body information corresponding to a predetermined frequency range of the second complex transfer functions calculated; and estimating a direction in which the moving body is present using the moving body information.

The circuit extracts a second matrix corresponding to a specified frequency range from an N×M first matrix calculated from each received signal and indicating a propagation property between each transmitting antenna element and each receiving antenna element, estimates the position where the living body is present using the second matrix, calculates a radar cross-section (RCS) value of the living body based on the estimated position and the positions of the transmission and receiving antennas, and estimates the motion of the living body using the calculated RCS value and information indicating correspondence between RCS values and motions of the living body.

Abstract: An estimation device includes: M transmission antenna elements each transmitting a first transmission signal; N transmitter-receivers each including a reception antenna element and receiving, over a predetermined period, a first reception signal including a reflection signal that is the first transmission signal reflected by a first living body, using the reception antenna element; a memory storing training signals that are second reception signals obtained by causing the N transmitter-receivers to preliminarily receive second reception signals including reflection signals that are second transmission signals transmitted from the M transmission antenna elements to a second living body and reflected therefrom; a first vector calculator calculating a first vector for each training signal and each first reception signal by respective predetermined methods; and a circuit identifying the first living body or estimating an orientation of the first living body by a predetermined method, using correlation coefficients calculated from the first vectors.
