Abstract:
The method of the invention consists in shifting (a) the start of the scrambled section of a composite video line of a television image with respect to the start of the useful part of that line.
Abstract:
A device and to a method for generating control signals is set forth. The device according to the present invention allows the generation, from a single time reference, of the write control (WE) and read control (RE) signals for the information relating to a video line in a storage device (7, 8, 17, 18, 20). In this way, possible shifts between the synchronization of two successive lines due in particular to the transmission are overcome. The device according to the present invention is applied in particular to the generation, from a common time reference, of write signals and of read signals for a storage device (7, 8, 17, 18, 20) intended for storing a video image line. The invention applies principally to the production of devices for unscrambling scrambled television transmissions, particularly pay television transmissions.
Abstract:
In order to scramble as effectively as possible pay-television transmissions, the transmitter is made to transmit, at one and the same time, access messages and entitlement messages, all of them crypted and corresponding to a control word periodically loaded into a pseudo-random generator. In each receiver, the decoder comprises a control unit processing the various messages and sending them to a security processor which supplies a control word to the pseudo-random generator controlling the unscrambling.
Abstract:
Circuitry for recognizing an authorization code included in a video signal for enabling a subscriber's television receiver, includes quantizing apparatus for coarsely quantizing the received signal. A correlator designed to recognize the authorization code is coupled the quantizer and produces an array of correlation values. The correlation values are coupled to a threshold circuit which converts the correlation values to bistate values. Further circuitry evaluates the distribution of bistate values to determine reception of the authorization code.
Abstract:
A linear ball bearing having a guide carriage (2) which is guided on a guide rail (1) in a longitudinally displaceable manner and is mounted in rolling contact on longitudinal sides of the guide rail (1) via balls (3) which are arranged on each longitudinal side in at least two parallel ball rows (4, 5) encircling in endless ball channels (6), each ball (3) of the one ball row (5) together with an adjacent ball (3) of the other ball row (4) being held all round in cage pockets (8) of a common cage piece (7), the cage piece (7) having exactly two cage pockets (8) for one ball (3) each from both ball rows (4, 5), each cage piece (7), as viewed in the running direction of the balls (3), being provided at both ends with convexly curved end surfaces (9) for contact with the end surfaces (9) of adjacent cage pieces (7), which end surfaces (9) extend essentially up to the cage piece sides (10).
Abstract:
The headrest (1) comprises a translation guidance assembly (10) guided along a spindle (2) attached to the seat back and an articulation assembly (20) that is mounted swivelling on the guidance assembly, around an axis (7). A locking member (30) swivels on the guidance assembly (10) around an axis (8) that is parallel to the axis (7), between a locked and an unlocked position. The locking member comprises a pad (31) shaped to press on the spindle (2) in the locked position, and a head (32) that is shaped to lock on a curved section (23), attached to the articulation assembly. In this locked position, that the locking member takes under the effect of inertia after a collision, the headrest can neither pivot backwards nor slide downwards. Application of the headrest is directed to automotive vehicle seats.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for playing back a sequence of images from a run of component images successively supplied in digital form by a remote source to a receiver apparatus having the function of playing back the images of the sequence at a given rate, and in which each image constitutes an independent set that is received in the form of data trains. The apparatus includes verification that each received data train and each run of trains making up a set is valid, storing the most recently received valid set, reconstituting image signals from the most recently received valid set, and a clock for locally and independently generating clock signals for triggering visual reproduction of images as a function of circumstances.

Abstract:
Known telecommunication systems like a DECT-system comprising a base-station and a handset or like a Digital Home Network system comprising a controller and several devices or a car radio system comprising a car radio and a front are based upon an authorisation process for introducing a new device or for coupling an already introduced but decoupled old device to said telecommunication system. Such authorisation process, which often is user-unfriendly, can be partially or even completely avoided by either using the result of an old identification process or by using a new identification process for identifying a user, which can be done in a much more user-friendly way.
Abstract:
A stowable vehicle seat assembly for use in a vehicle cabin having a cabin floor. The seat assembly includes a seat cushion member having downwardly extending front and rear legs. A mounting means is positioned on the front and rear legs for releasable engagement with the cabin floor. A control rod system is pivotably interconnected between the seat cushion member and the cabin floor, and is adapted to enable selective pivoting of said seat cushion member between a deployed design configuration and a raised stowed configuration. In the deployed design configuration, the mounting means is in engagement with the cabin floor as aforesaid, and the seat cushion member has a substantially horizontal orientation. The raised stowed configuration is located rearwardly of the deployed design configuration, whereat the mounting means is released from engagement with the cabin floor, with the seat cushion member has a substantially vertical orientation.
