摘要： A thin sanitary napkin is disclosed along with its method of manufacture. The napkin has a liquid-impermeable baffle and an absorbent retained on the baffle. The absorbent has a longitudinally-extending central absorbent zone with a width of less than about 2 inches. The central zone is capable of absorbing at least 20 grams of body fluid which is discharged from the vaginal cavity and deposited onto the napkin. The central zone also has a greater stiffness than adjacent portions of the napkin so as to resist twisting and bunching during use. The sanitary napkin further has a caliper of less than about 5 millimeters.

摘要： An absorbent article is disclosed along with a method of removing the absorbent article from an undergarment. The absorbent article has a liquid-permeable cover, a liquid-impermeable baffle, and an absorbent positioned therebetween to form a pad. The pad has a central portion, longitudinally-extending sides, and a pair of relatively stiff tabs extending laterally outward from the longitudinal sides. The pad has a body-facing surface and a garment-facing surface. The absorbent article further includes adhesive for securing the pad to the crotch portion of an undergarment. The adhesive is secured on the garment-facing surface of the pad and is present on each of the tabs. Release paper covers the adhesive.

The absorbent article includes a liquid-impermeable baffle, a first absorbent layer and a second absorbent layer. The second absorbent layer is positioned between the baffle and the first absorbent layer and has a higher transverse wicking rate than the first absorbent layer. The absorbent article can be visually inspected to determine if it is near its maximum fluid capacity before leakage occurs.

The plate portions can enhance engagement of the hook fastener members with mating loop fastener members, particularly with low loft non-woven loop fastener members. A method of making fastener members is provided. Molten resin is extruded and applied to a molding roller, creating preforms. The outermost portions of at least some of the preforms are flattened, thereby forming generally plate shaped portions. Disposable absorbent garments advantageously incorporate the hook fastener members.

摘要： Disclosed is an absorbent article, including a pair of containment flaps, which containment flaps are particularly well suited for use on an absorbent article having a relatively narrow crotch. Specifically, the containment flaps include a proximal edge and a distal edge. The proximal edge is adhered to a bodyside liner of the absorbent product with the distal edge being adhered to the bodyside liner at a point outboard of the proximal edge. Alternatively, the proximal edge and distal edge are adhered to the bodyside liner in a manner to form a C-fold in the containment flap. The C-fold may be inboard or outboard facing.
