    摘要: An electrical enclosure includes a housing having a front, a back, a plurality of sides, a plurality of sections disposed between the sides, at least one electrical apparatus, and a plurality of electrical bus members electrically connected to the electrical apparatus. The electrical apparatus is disposed within a first one of the sections of the housing, and a substantial portion of the electrical bus members are collectively disposed within a second one of the sections of the housing. At least the second one of the sections and the substantial portion of the electrical bus members collectively disposed therein are accessible from the front of the housing, regardless of whether the electrical apparatus is within or removed from the first one of the sections of the housing. An electrical bus assembly is also disclosed.

    摘要: Fuses for the potential transformers (PTs) in medium voltage switchgear are mounted in fuse assemblies which are reciprocated within the switchgear enclosure independently of the transformers they protect between a connected position in which the fuse assemblies engage stabs at the rear wall of the enclosure and a retracted position adjacent a door at the front of the enclosure through which the fuses are inserted and removed while the fuse assemblies remain within the enclosure. The fuse assemblies include insulative tubes having first releasable contacts at a distal end which engage the stabs and second releasable contacts which engage fixed contacts connected to the transformers and spaced from the rear wall. The insulative tubes are mounted on a carriage which reciprocates between the connected and retracted positions. An interlock prevents opening of the door except where the carriage is in the retracted position and blocks movement of the carriage with the door open. The carriage can be alternatively turned over so that it can serve a transformer mounted over or under the fuse assembly, or two units, one having a connection facing upward and the other having its connection facing downward, can be inserted between an upper and lower transformer.

    摘要: The disclosed concept provides for a closed transition automatic transfer switch assembly having only two switch assemblies. This system utilizes a first switch assembly and a bypass switch assembly. The switch assemblies are each physically coupled to two power sources as well as the system load. The switch assemblies each include a power actuated contact arm. Each contact arm is coupled to, and in electrical communication with, the system load. Each contact arm may further be placed in one of the following configuration; a first configuration wherein the contact arm couples, and provides electrical communication between, the first source and the system load conductor, a second configuration wherein the contact arm couples, and provides electrical communication between, the second source and the system load conductor, and a neutral configuration wherein neither the first source nor the second source is coupled to, and in electrical communication with, the system load conductor.

    摘要: A system monitors electrical equipment and provides predictive diagnostics therefor. The system includes sensors located at or about the electrical equipment. The sensors sense information pertaining to operation of the electrical equipment. A first processor is located at or about the electrical equipment and receives the sensed information from the sensors as first information. A first transceiver cooperates with the first processor to transmit the first information as transmitted information. A second processor is located remote from the electrical equipment. A second transceiver cooperates with the first transceiver to receive the transmitted information as second information and communicate the same to the second processor. The second processor provides a notification pertaining to an immediate inspection and/or maintenance of the electrical equipment, and set points operatively associated with the sensed information. The set points pertain to a number of potential alarms regarding operation of the electrical equipment.

    摘要: Hot spots in power conductors are monitored by apparatus comprising a temperature probe embedded in an electrically insulative thermally conductive material in surface-to-surface contact with the power conductor, typically at a joint being monitored. The temperature probe is spaced from the power conductor by the electrically insulative thermally conductive material a distance sufficient to provide electrical isolation, while the material has sufficient thermal conductivity that the temperature probe is able to substantiate trends in temperature changes at the joint. The invention can be incorporated into existing electrically insulative supports for the power conductors.
