摘要: A method for separating a signal mix composed of the additive superposition of M known functions that are weighted with M unknown weighting factors, whereby all or some of the functions are chronologically and/or spectrally not disjunctive. The signal mix including a potential noise signal is supplied to a signal evaluation device that, by filtering, forms true-to-expectation estimated values for the unknown weighting factors. For the first time, this provides a true-to-expectation separation of a signal mix composed of non-orthogonal functions. An apparatus for the implementation of the method forms linear combinations of the correlation products from the input signal and from the functions to be separated. Instead of the functions to be separated, versions of these functions modified according to the properties of the superimposed noise signal can also be used in the formation of the correlation products. An advantageous and cost-beneficial embodiment of the apparatus for separating the signal mix is an apparatus composed of M modified, signal-matched filters that are realized in analog or digital technology.

摘要: In a transmission method for simultaneous synchronous or asynchronous transmission of K data sequences consisting of data symbols, before transmission a specific signal form allocated to the data sequences is modulated on each of the data symbols of the K data sequences transmitted via a channel or K generally distinguishable channels, in order to generate the K transmission signals, which are all distorted by the one channel, or one of the K channels. In the receiver, continuous-valued provisional estimated values are calculated for some or all of the data symbols of the K input sequences according to a linear method, and a confidence level for the estimated values is calculated.

摘要: A method for matching a data rate of simultaneous radio transmissions of data for services over a connection between a base station and a subscriber station. The method includes determining a service-specific rate matching factor for one of the services based on a steady-state rate matching factor and a dynamic rate matching factor. The dynamic connection-oriented rate matching factor is based on the steady-state matching factor. The dynamic-connection oriented rate matching factor matches a sum of a volume of data for the services over the connection to a volume of data available in a next frame of data. The method also includes compressing or expanding the data for the one of the services based on the corresponding service-specific rate matching factor.

摘要: A TDMA/CDMA radio communications system provides frequency channels which are formed both by time slots and by broadband frequency ranges, and in which information from a plurality of connections can be simultaneously transmitted between mobile stations and a base station wherein it is possible to distinguish the information from different connections in accordance with a connection-specific fine structure. Frequency channels are repeatedly provided for frequency synchronization of the mobile stations in the downward direction in which a symbol sequence is transmitted. From received signals, the mobile station to be synchronized determines estimated values for the symbol sequence and compares these estimated values with a reference sequence. It is thereby possible to calculate a phase drift in the estimated values with reference to the reference sequence wherein a frequency offset, which is used for frequency synchronization, is determined from the phase drift.

Frequency channels are repeatedly provided for time synchronization of the mobile stations in the downward direction in which a signal form is transmitted in addition to information from further connections. The mobile station to be synchronized determines from received signals at least one instant of the arrival of the signal form, which is subsequently used by the mobile station for time synchronization. The system is advantageously applied, for example, in TDD mode for the third mobile communications generation which combines a TDMA and CDMA subscriber separation method.

摘要: A method is described in which a signaling message is sent from a first radio station to a second radio station. The message contains information relating to both a frequency channel number and a frequency channel bandwidth, each referring to a common standard bandwidth. The signaling message is received by the second radio station, and the signaled frequency channel is used for transmission and reception purposes. The data relating to the frequency channel number and the bandwidth indicate which frequency channel has to be used. In addition the signal includes information about using radio communication systems with a plurality of non-interconnected frequency bands and with bandwidths intended for various applications.

摘要: Data rates of simultaneous radio transmissions of data are matched for services over a connection between a base station and a subscriber station by determining a service-specific rate matching factor for one of the services based on a steady-state rate matching factor and a dynamic rate matching factor. The dynamic connection-oriented rate matching factor is based on the steady-state matching factor. The dynamic-connection oriented rate matching factor matches a sum of a volume of data for the services over the connection to a volume of data available in a next frame of data. In addition, the data is compressed or expanded for the one of the services based on the corresponding service-specific rate matching factor.
