摘要: An ambulatory infusion and/or KVO (keep vein open) system (12, 18) has a gas-pressurized bladder arrangement (12) including a gas barrier associated therewith. The system includes a flexible bag of solution (13) inserted in a sleeve portion (36) of the bladder arrangement (12). Internal gas pressure which is developed within the bladder arrangement by a selectively initiated chemical reaction exerts a continuing pressure against the solution bag (13) to cause the solution to flow therefrom. A tubing set (18) of the system includes a flow restrictor (24) which is sized for minimal flow rates for indwelling catheter patency maintenance.

摘要: A drug infusion manifold that includes a housing defining a plurality of spaced apart fluid chambers that have a closed first end portion and an opposing second end portion. The second end portions of immediately adjacent chambers are in fluid communication through channels extending therebetween. A plurality of spaced apart fluid inlets are formed in the housing in fluid communication with a corresponding fluid chamber. A check valve means is provided in each fluid chamber for directing drugs and/or solutions from the inlets into the chamber and precluding fluid flow from the chamber. An outlet is formed in the housing in direct fluid communication with at least one of the chambers.

摘要: A drug infusion manifold for controlling the infusion of drugs and/or other solutions into an intravenous patient feed line. The manifold includes a housing defining an elongated in-line flow channel that communicates at one end with a carrier fluid inlet line and at the other end with the patient feed line. A plurality of spaced apart drug inlet openings are formed in the housing in communication with the flow channel. Each of the inlet openings is provided with a check valve assembly that includes a valve member defining an inlet socket portion and a valve stem portion that extends into the flow channel. The valve stem portion has a cylindrical side wall that defines an inlet passage that communicates with the socket portion. A plurality of lateral inlet ports extend through the side wall. An elastic sleeve member is received about the valve stem portion in covering relationship with the inlet ports. The valve stem portion is in-line with the flow of carrier fluid through the flow channel.

摘要: A suction drainage control system wherein waste-treating material is released into a sealed chamber. The chamber comprises of a cover with a flexible liner sealed to and suspended therefrom. A normally closed reservoir is provided on an underside of the cover for storing the waste-treating material therewithin as long as the reservoir remains closed. An externally operated actuator is provided on the cover for opening the reservoir to release the waste-treating material into the sealed chamber.

The sealed chamber includes a cover with a flexible liner sealed to and suspended therefrom. A reservoir having a closure is provided inside the sealed chamber for storing the waste-treating material, which reservoir is opened by manipulating the flexible liner to remove the closure.

摘要: An article is disclosed which comprises fibrous material which has been chemically modified such that the material's cutability using ultrasonic energy becomes facile and the material can be cut into a predetermined shape using ultrasonic energy. The article may additionally comprise fibrous material disposed between first and second fusible materials, wherein at least one of the fusible materials includes means for defining a selected line of cut, and ultrasonic energy directed through the materials along the means for defining a selected line of cut will effect cutting of the fibrous material and fusion of the fusible materials.
