Abstract: This invention is designed to improve upon and solve the issues with insulated structural honeycomb core, such as Sing Core US patent #7,147,741, or other honeycomb cores. Sing Core uses a vertical grain veneer to achieve a high compression strength. The issue with vertical grain veneer is that there is no horizontal stability. The reinforced honeycomb structure as described in this patent can use vertical and horizontal grain veneer to have great compression strength and improved horizontal stability. The reinforced honeycomb core is composed of a sheet or multiple sheets of flat building materials adhered to a layer of filler material. The layering will continue in this fashion, alternating between the flat sheet(s) and the filler material(s) to form a large block. While the adhesive is still uncured, the stack of alternating flat building materials and filler materials can be placed in a press. The pressure will allow the adhesive to thoroughly bond across the whole block. Once the adhesive is fully cured, the block can be removed and sliced perpendicular to the flat sheet building materials, through the block. The thickness of the slices off of the block can be, but does not have to be, the same thickness as the filler material. The resulting slices can then be adhered to each other layering the slices to create cellular cavities filled with the filler materials. This can be placed in the press again and left under pressure until fully cured. Once cured the block can be removed from the press and can be sliced parallel to the face showing the cellular filled cavities.

Abstract: Cell walls (16) made of wood form a plurality of cells in which a filler material 18 (e.g. foam insulation) is received. Facing members (12, 14) are glued to the sides of the core structure (10). The grain of the wood cell walls (16) extend sideways of the core (10), such that in grain is directed towards the facing members (12, 14). This construction may be used to form logs (L) used for making log cabins, beams, columns, etc. It may also be used for constructing panels used to form furniture elements, such as desks, cabinets, etc., and for making doors.

Abstract: Multi-level drainfields for purifying septic tank liquid effluent have a plurality of vertically-stacked filtration medium layers with air space therebetween. The space-saving drainfield modules may be custom-fitted in size, number, type and thickness of layers to meet the requirements of a home, family and habits. Effluent may be percolated through each filtration layer, which may contain baffles, from top down or bottom up, in series or in parallel, and may be recirculated, if necessary, to render the effluent safe for discharge as clean ground water. Drainfield modules may be combined for high-capacity effluent handling, and may be installed underground or aboveground, where protective housing can permit light to reach the effluent therein.

Abstract: Sandwich construction building materials are produced using conventional facings of plywood, fiberboard, particle board, mineral board, wood, metal, plastic, etc. on both faces of the building material, the inner core therebetween being made from natural wood veneer, made from wood fibers or wood shavings combined with synthetic resin, bamboo, etc. bent into elongate strips of angular, corrugated or undulating configuration or rolled into hollow tubes. The strips or tubes may be cut transversely into strips of rings of equal height and assembled proximately of contiguously to form an inner core layer having an openwork pattern. Openwork spaces may be filled with insulation or strengthening materials, and core elements may be coated with resins or adhesives. The resulting building products may be modular and lightweight, strong and suitable for use as plywood, flooring, walls, beams, joists, trusses and posts.

Abstract: Objects to be inventoried are positioned on a series of platforms for weighing. Each platform, which may be a storage shelf, is supported on a piston operating in a fluid pressure cylinder, either hydraulic or pneumatic. On signal from a computer-controller, fluid is pumped through a common conduit into all cylinders simultaneously, steadily increasing the pressure on each cylinder piston. When the pressure reaches the point of balancing the combined weight of any one platform and the objects resting thereon, a signal is generated to report that balancing pressure value to the computer, at the same time causing the corresponding cylinder to be deactivated. Pumping of fluid continues until all platforms in the system have registered balancing pressure values into the computer. With data stored previously in its memory bank, the computer combines the reported pressure values with unit weights of stored objects, piston diameters, tare weights or weigh calibrations to calculate, store, display and/or print out an accurate count of the objects on each platform.

Abstract: A shock and vibration resistant structure includes a frame having a plurality of substantially rectangular regions therein. A plurality of modular units are received in the regions. The units have a lower external surface, side external surfaces, and a top external surface. A plurality of shock and vibration isolators extending from portions of the frame toward at least two adjacent external surfaces of the units, isolate the units from shock and vibration. The units are removable and replaceable. An elevator is used to lift the units so that they may be transferred horizontally from the elevator to the frame. Stabilizing members disposed between the units and the frame fall away when the structure is subjected to shock and vibration.

Abstract: Carbon paper duplicating sheets, such as those used in credit-card transaction forms, are made easily destroyable after authorized use without hand-soiling by incorporating, into the tissue paper base of the carbon paper sheets, filament strands arranged in repetitively alternating angular relationship to the edges of, and throughout, the carbon paper sheets. Duplicating-ink-free areas are provided at opposite edges of each sheet so that it may be grasped between the thumb and fingers of each hand to render the used carbon paper shredded, uncopyable and therefore safely disposable. The addition of perforations in the paper base in selected areas may be made to enhance the easy destructibility of the duplicating sheets.

Abstract: This patent is a new method of constructing composite stiffened building materials. Conventional door construction materials are made of solid wood, MDF, or LVL. Solid wood tends to move over time and is very heavy. MDF and LVL core doors tend to be extremely heavy and both have a tendency to delaminate or move over time, especially when exposed to moisture. This new method of building stile and rail doors will create lasting stile and rail doors of any size last without warping and remaining high strength, lightweight, and rigid. The stiles, or horizontal members, and rails, or vertical members, can be made of honeycomb core, laminated alternating wood products and stiffening materials like the Composite Stiffener, U.S. Patent No. 63/313,649.
The composite stiffener comprises of multiple layers (at least 2) of aluminum, formica, plastic, sheet metals, fiberglass, or other strengthening materials: plywood, vencer, multiple layers of veneer, MDF, or other wood products for adequate bonding surface; and honeycomb core, paper core, hollow core, or other filler materials. The materials listed above can alternate and be adhered with an adhesive. Once the adhesive is fully cured, the layers of materials can be cut length-wise or width-wise perpendicular to the width edge of the sandwiched materials. Thickness of the section being cut is determined by the thickness of the core used in the panel the composite stiffener is intended for. The section that was previously cut off, is the composite stiffener, to be placed with the end grain to each surface of the panel requiring the stiffener. With the end grain of the stiffener facing the inner surface of the panel, or the stiffener layers are perpendicular to the surface of the panel, ensures the panel containing the stiffener will remain straight and not warp, bend, twist, or otherwise fail.
The composite stiffener material can have lumber adhered to at least two sides with any adhesive. Skin material can be adhered to the top and bottom faces of the composite stiffener core material. Skin material can be flat building materials such as plywood, vencer, multiple layer vencer, MDF, HPL, formica, plastics, aluminum, metals, fiberglass, or other flat building materials. This creates the composite stiffened building materials like stiles and rails material. They can be profiled to fit together with the desired amount of panels.-

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed towards a composite stiffener that is incorporated into panelized products to create stronger bonding, greater adhesion between laminated layers and less warping sandwich panels. In addition, the resulting products incorporating composite stiffeners can be lightweight, yet stronger than other lightweight panels.
