摘要： An image recording apparatus (2000) is disclosed, which comprises forming elements (2002) for forming an image, a memory (2006) indicating relative desirability of utilising the forming elements (2002) for forming the image, and processing means (2008) for computing image recording signals using input image signals (2012) and the stored data. The use of a particular forming element is thereby biased dependent upon the relative desirability data of other forming elements, the corresponding input signal for the particular forming element, and a term for the particular forming element.

摘要： An image forming apparatus capable of enhancing the accuracy of the scanning position of a laser beam to thereby obtain a more precise image. Optical sensors detect reflected light from a surface of a photosensitive drum. During image formation, the apparatus detects the scanning speed of the laser beam in a main scanning direction based on detection signals from the respective optical sensors in each of divisional sections of an image forming area in the main scanning direction. The apparatus corrects magnification of the image in the main scanning direction, based on results of detection of the scanning speed of the laser beam in the main scanning direction.

摘要： An optical scanning apparatus capable of properly correcting a main scanning scale factor. Upstream and downstream laser-light detection sensors of the optical scanning apparatus each generate a signal when first or second light beam passes through each of slits formed in the sensors. Based on signals, a scanning time required for each light beam to scan between the sensors is measured. A correction coefficient is decided by a correction value calculation unit based on a difference between wavelengths of the first and second light beams, a scanning time difference is calculated by a comparison unit based on the correction coefficient and scanning times of the light beams, and the downstream laser-light detection sensor is rotated by a sensor rotation drive unit to make the scanning time difference zero, whereby the slits are made parallel to each other.

摘要： There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus having a printhead equipped with printing element row that includes printing elements having a plurality of heat-producing resistance elements. The apparatus includes a temperature sensing unit which senses the temperature of the printhead, a temperature distribution storage unit in which a temperature distribution along the printing element row, a temperature gradient calculating unit which calculates the temperature gradient of the printing element row from the temperature of the printhead sensed by the temperature sensing units, a predicting unit which predicts the temperature of each printing element using the temperature gradient and the temperature distribution along the printing element row, and a control unit which applies discharge pulses, which are decided based upon the predicted temperature from the predicting unit, to each of the printing elements.
