摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for mounting an optical element on the underside of a substrate in a solar energy system, as a replacement for, or supplemental support to, an adhesive. The apparatus includes one or more support arms which uphold the optical element. The support arms may be secured in place by being coupled to various components of the solar energy system, such as a front panel, an enclosure, or a primary mirror.

摘要: A catheter for tracheal or bronchial suction including a unit for displaying the artificial airways, the trachea and the bronchial tree so as to allow the removal of secretions; in particular, the catheter for tracheal or bronchial suction includes optical fibers, a microcamera or another visualization technology positioned in the distal end. The operator can identify the position of the distal end, of the artificial airways, of the trachea and of the bronchial tree on the screen. Therefore, it is possible to ensure that the tube of the catheter is adjacent to or inside collections of fluid secretions or other material to be sucked up. The suction can be selectively applied to avoid damage to the mucosa and to facilitate the more complete elimination of secretions.

摘要: A golf towel assembly that permits a golfer to carry a wet towel clipped to his/her clothing is comprised of; 1) a backing made of waterproof material to prevent water from reaching clothing; 2) a grommet for attaching the greens towel assembly; 3) a terry cloth towel, with nylon netting attached, that attaches to the waterproof backing using a hook and loop attachment for easy removal. The assembly is small and can be attached to the golfer's clothing so that it does not interfere with the golfer's stroke. The assembly allows a golfer to take a compact wet towel to the green, detach it to clean the ball and replace it in an out of the way spot clear of the golf stroke.

摘要: An airway device (14), that is used to maintain a clear airway in a patient, e.g. for artificial ventilation during surgery, comprises an inflatable cuff (26), which is inflated when in position in a patient's airway (24). The inflated cuff (26) provides a seal to maintain the device (14) in position in a patient's airway (24), and to prevent leakage of infected oropharangeal secretions into the patient's lungs. A method and apparatus (10) for monitoring and controlling the pressure in the inflatable cuff (26) is described, which, in one embodiment, controls the pressure about a setpoint pressure, while preventing loss of sealing pressure during a patient's respiratory cycle. In other embodiments, the method and apparatus monitors for: leaks in the pressure system of the device (14) that includes the cuff (26); blockage in the pressure system, and/or malpositioning of the airway device (14) during use.

摘要: The systems and methods provide a dynamic process for obtaining and managing informed consent documentation. In general, the dynamic informed consent process (DICP) makes use of an intermediary organization, e.g., a trusted intermediary, which: (a) provides ICFs which have been dynamically generated for a specified trial or medical procedure and based on particular state or federal requirements, if any; and (b) archives copies of signed ICFs. In certain preferred embodiments, there may also be a procedure to provide training materials, such as audio or video presentations, to be viewed by prospective participants. In certain preferred embodiments, the process also includes contacting subjects who have signed ICFs in the event that there is a change of circumstance which the subject may deem material to whether s/he would continue to consent, or whether the participant needs to provide a different type of consent to participate in particular event or trial.
