The present invention relates to chemically stable, polyfunctional, perfluorinated polyorganosiloxanes (POS) comprising on the one hand fluorinated lateral grafts resulting from the hydrosilylation of perfluorinated olefins with SiH units and having alkyl and/or alkyl ester linkages but not ether linkages, and on the other hand other, non-perfluorinated functional units E capable of giving them diverse and varied physical and chemical properties and opening up avenues in numerous applications. Examples of these POS according to the invention are those of the following formula: According to another of its features, the invention relates to a process for the preparation of these polyfunctional perfluorinated POS. The invention concerns a method for preparing polyorganosiloxanes with high purity ester function (acetoxyalkyl or acetoxyalkenyl), consisting in: hydrosilylation between a hydrogenopolyorganosiloxane oil and &agr;-olefin alcohol; esterification of the resulting hydroxy-alkylated or polyorganosiloxane with an acetyl halide; elimination of &agr;-olefin derivatives and the halohydric acid formed. The resulting polyorganosiloxanes with ester function (acetoxyalkyl) have global siloxane, &agr;-olefin unit and/or &agr;-olefin impurities contents corresponding to a number of &agr;-olefin groups for 100 g of polyorganosiloxane, with ester function less than 10−3 mol.

The mixture of the invention comprises at least one cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate and at least one solvent comprising an ester function and an ether function. An aqueous emulsion can be obtained from this mixture which also comprises a compound bearing a function with a mobile hydrogen, selected from primary or secondary hydroxyl functions, phenol functions, primary and/or secondary amino functions, carboxylic functions and a thiol function or a compound containing precursor functions capable of freeing hydroxyl functions. The emulsion can be used for the manufacture of coatings on a substrate of cement, of wood or especially of leather, and also for the manufacture of adhesives.

Disclosed are personal care or cosmetic compositions comprising a dicarboxy functionalized polyorganosiloxane and methods for the cleaning or the treatment of hair or skin and for enhancing delivery of active agents to hair or skin with the compositions. Said personal care or cosmetic compositions can be formulated in a wide variety of types of products for the skin and/or hair (or, more generally, keratin) such as mousses, gels (in particular hair dressing gels), conditioners, hair dressing formulations or to aid comb-through of hair, rinsing formulae, hand and body lotions, skin moisturizing products, skin cleansing or disinfecting compositions, shower gels, toilet milks, cream foundations, make-up removal compositions, sun and ultraviolet radiation protection lotions, creams or gels, skin care creams, anti-age preparations, anti-acne preparations, local analgesics, mascaras, deodorants, antiperspirants, lipsticks and other compositions of the same type. The use of dicarboxy functionalized polyorganosiloxanes permits to confer benefits such as an increase in shine, gloss or volume of hair, easier comb-through of hair, easier spreadability or slipperiness onto skin; it also permits a better persistence of active materials or benefits agents deposited onto the surface and consequently permits to maintain the activity of the composition deposited on the surface over time. The dicarboxy functionalized polyorganosiloxane can be used in an amount of from about 0.1% to about 30%, preferably from about 3% to about 10% by weight, of said personal care or cosmetic compositions.
