摘要: A membrane module is made by inserting ends of membranes into a container and injecting resin directly into a space between adjacent membranes. The container may be a header shell having ducts for injecting the resin from outside of the header to the space between the adjacent membranes. The ducts may pass through a part of the header which forms a permeate cavity. The permeate cavity may be filled with a fugitive material while the resin is being injected.

摘要: An immersed membrane system or process may use measured or calculated process information to optimize one or more process operating parameters to improve performance or reduce operating costs. An on-line process control system or method may use the resistance in series method in operating an immersed membrane water treatment system. A process control system or process may consider resistance values and adjust operational parameters such as membrane aeration frequency factor, membrane aeration flow, permeate flux, permeation duration, backwash flow and duration, relaxation duration or maintenance or recovery chemical cleaning frequencies in order to reduce the operational costs related to membrane fouling removal.

摘要: A method of assessing the surface roughness of an object includes directing gas supplied at a constant pressure through a control orifice and subsequently to a measurement nozzle adjacent to and spaced from a surface of the object, with subsequent escape of the gas to the atmosphere. The object is moved past the measurement nozzle and the resultant back pressure of the gas upstream of the measurement nozzle and downstream of the control nozzle is measured to provide a back pressure signal. The frequency content of the back pressure signal is examined to thereby obtain an assessment of the surface roughness of the object.

摘要: An assembly of potted filtering hollow fiber membranes has at least one bundle of permeating hollow fiber membranes that is potted in a block of potting material, and a cushioning wall extending along at least a portion of the axial length of the membranes adjacent the potting material and around at least a portion of the perimeter of the bundle. The cushioning wall can have a fixed edge adjacent the resin, and the wall can extend away from the resin in a direction generally parallel to the axis of the hollow fiber membranes. Walls of various structures including soft solid materials, non-permeating membranes and fabrics are described.
