    Abstract: A wireless device with a slot antenna includes one or more heatsinks; one or more circuit boards with a plurality of components thereon; a housing enclosing the one or more heatsinks and the one or more circuit boards; and a slot antenna including a slot formed in or between the one or more heatsinks and an antenna feed, wherein the slot is further utilized for ventilation within the housing. The slot antenna can further include a conductive sheet placed over an end of the slot for tuning; and a dielectric material disposed in and over some portion of length of the slot, wherein the portion of the length is selected to fine tune a frequency of resonance of the slot antenna, wherein one or more components of the plurality of components are used to electrically load the slot thereby mechanically shortening a resonant length L of the slot.

    Abstract: A dual-band antenna or coupled resonators, related wireless device applications, and methods of manufacturing the same are provided. Embodiments of the antenna have resonant frequencies in a lower 2-3 GHz frequency band and a higher 5-6 GHz frequency band range. The antenna has a high frequency portion that may be configured to operate as an inverted F antenna. The high frequency element is also positioned adjacent to a nearby parasitic element. In operation, the high frequency element and the parasitic element couple together and form a current loop, or loop antenna which is configured to resonate at a low frequency band.

    Abstract: A compact electronic device includes a base with a plurality of sides each adjacent to a bottom portion, wherein the base houses components comprising a heatsink supporting a fan module located in an interior portion, a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), and a power supply, and wherein vents are disposed on the bottom portion and side vents are disposed on one or more of the plurality of sides; a top cover configured to attach to the base via the plurality of sides forming an air gap extending each of the plurality of sides, wherein the air gap supports air exhaust on one or more sides of the plurality of sides and air intake on the remaining sides; and an electrical plug connected to the power supply and extending out of the bottom portion for insertion into an electrical outlet for power and to physically support the compact electronic device.
