    Abstract: Disclosed is a photon-counting x-ray detector system having a plurality of photon-counting channels, and at least one anti-coincidence circuit, each of which is connected to least two of the channels and configured to detect coincident events in the connected channels. The x-ray detector system further includes an anti-coincidence controller configured to control the operation of the at least one anti-coincidence circuit based on photon count information by gradually adapting the operation of the at least one anti-coincidence circuit with increasing count rates, starting from a threshold count rate.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an edge-on photon counting detector and a method for manufacturing a charge collecting side of such detector. The edge-on photon counting detector includes a semi-conducting substrate.     Abstract: Disclosed is an X-ray sensor having an active detector region including detector diodes on its surface. The X-ray sensor further includes a junction termination surrounding the surface region including the detector diodes. The junction termination includes a guard arranged closest to the end of the surface region, a field stop outside the guard and at least two field limiting rings, FLRs arranged between the guard and the field stop. A first FLR is arranged at a distance Δ1 from the guard selected from the interval [4 μm; 12 μm], a second FLR is arranged at a distance Δ2 from the first FLR selected from the interval [6.5 μm; 14 μm], and wherein the distance Δ2 is larger than the distance Δ1. The proposed technology also provides a method for constructing such an X-ray sensor and an X-ray imaging system including an X-ray detector system that includes such X-ray sensor.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a detector system for x-ray imaging. The detector system includes a detector having a plurality of edge-on detector modules. Each of the edge-on detector modules includes a first edge that is adapted to be oriented towards an x-ray source and a front-side running essentially parallel to the direction of incoming x-rays. The front-side includes at least one charge collecting electrode. At least a subset of the plurality of edge-on detector modules being pairwise arranged, front-side to front-side, whereby a front-side to front-side gap is defined between the front-sides of the pairwise arranged edge-on detector modules. The pairwise arranged edge-on detector modules are associated with an anti-scatter collimator arranged in the x-ray path between the x-ray source and the edge-on detector modules and overlapping the front-side to front-side gap.
