Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enhancing location reporting procedures to include height information of a user equipment (UE), such as an aerial UE. The location reporting procedures may be between a core network entity and an access network entity. Due to the differences in coverage regions between areal cells and terrestrial cells, aerial UEs may not fully rely on cell identifiers (IDs) as a primary location indicator due to its ambiguity (e.g., as the aerial UEs may use a side-lobe or up-tilted beam of a far-away cell that provides a cell ID while its conventional geographical location belongs to another, closer cell). Aspects of the present disclosure provides techniques for enhancing the location reporting procedures for the aerial UEs to prevent such potential errors in location reporting.

Abstract: Techniques for managing access combinations for multiple access protocol data unit (PDU) sessions are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a configuration for a multiple access PDU session associated with a plurality of access links. The plurality of access links may be associated with a first type of access, a second type of access, or a combination thereof. The communication device may select a mode for allocation of a data flow associated with the multiple access PDU session to the plurality of access links based at least in part on the received control signaling. The communication device may allocate the data flow associated with the multiple access PDU session to the plurality of access links based at least in part on the selected mode, and transmit the allocated data flow over the plurality of access links associated with the two types of access.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to on-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) receives, from a user equipment (UE) in a first cell frequency, a request for a protocol data unit (PDU) session over a network slice. The BS receives, from a core network entity, a resource configuration request for the PDU session over the network slice. The BS transmits, to the core network entity, a resource configuration response indicating a cause for rejecting the resource configuration request. In one embodiment, a UE transmits, in a first cell frequency of a network, a network registration request message requesting a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives a network registration response message indicating the network slice is allowed based on a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice requested.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for ensuring compatibility between network slice operating frequencies and user equipment (UE) radio capabilities. An example method generally includes receiving, from a network core entity, a request for information about capabilities of a user equipment (UE) and information about a plurality of network slices in an allowed set of network slices for the UE; identifying, based on UE capability information, a subset of the allowed set of network slices that the UE can use for communications between the UE and the network entity; generating a response including at least the subset of the allowed set of network slices that the UE can use for communications between the UE and the network entity; and transmitting the response to the network core entity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine whether a geographic location code associated with a geographic location of the UE matches a geographic location code in a received message. Based on the determination, the UE may select a non-public network (NPN) function. Additionally or alternatively, a UE may discover or select an NPN function based on determining that legal requirements, such as one or more interception conditions, are independent of the geographic location of the UE. For example, the UE may discover and one or more NPN functions according to a query performed using an NPN function identifier or an NPN identifier. The UE may determine that the NPN function selection (e.g., for a geographic location of the UE) is independent of an interception condition (e.g., associated with the geographic location of the UE).

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to managing service data flows and corresponding data radio bearers. An indication of a binding between a service data flow and a data radio bearer with an access point can be received. The data radio bearer for binding to the service data flow can be determined as either an existing data radio bearer that supports one or more quality-of-service (QoS) parameters of the service data flow or a new data radio bearer to support one or more data flows of the service data flow. An existing data radio bearer can be modified or a new data radio bearer can be established based on the determination. Based on the binding, a packet can be transmitted using the data radio bearer based at least in part on classifying the packet as related to the service data flow.
