Abstract: A method, a user equipment, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The user equipment may identify a power consumption condition that relates to a downlink channel associated with the user equipment. The power consumption condition may correspond to a time period that is shorter than or equal to a transmission time interval of the user equipment. The user equipment may configure one or more modems of the user equipment to reduce power consumption during the time period.

Abstract: In order to balance the power requirements of a MIMO receiver with the gains that may be achieved through its use, an apparatus determines whether a current configuration of the UE supports iterative MIMO reception. When it is determined that the current configuration of the UE supports iterative MIMO reception, the apparatus determines whether at least one parameter of the received signal is within a corresponding target condition, respectively, for each of the at least one parameters, e.g., including determining whether a scheduling percentage meets a scheduling threshold and whether an error rate is within an error rate range. When both the configuration supports iterative MIMO reception and the signal parameter(s) meet the corresponding target condition(s), the apparatus uses the iterative MIMO receiver. If not, the apparatus uses a serial receiver.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that allow a user equipment (UE) to configure a subcarrier spacing value while monitoring synchronization signals of neighboring cells. In some wireless communication systems, synchronization signals in given radio frequency spectrum band may be transmitted using one of a plurality of different subcarrier spacings. In some cases, a network entity, such as a base station, may transmit an indication to the UE that indicates the subcarrier spacing used by a cell to transmit a specific set of synchronization signals. In some cases, the UE may select a subcarrier spacing based on a database of subcarrier spacings stored locally by the UE. In some cases, the UE may select the subcarrier spacing based on a predetermined configuration.

The first cell may determine synchronization assistance information for the second cell and transmit the synchronization assistance information to the UE. The UE may use the synchronization assistance information to determine the index for the SS block from the second cell. For example, the synchronization assistance information may indicate that the UE is to use the index of the SS block from the first cell as the index for the SS block from the second cell. Once the index for the SS block from the second cell is determined, the UE may identify the subframe or slot timing used by the second cell and proceed with cell acquisition.
