Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a wireless device. In some aspects, the wireless device may detect a desired operations change from a first operational state to a second operational state which uses a different number of radio resources than the first operational state. The wireless device may determine that there is an active call on a first radio resource or modem. The wireless device may perform a handover process to transfer the active call from the first radio resource to a second radio resource or modem. The handover process may be performed based on the detecting the operations change. The second radio resource provides a wireless service different from that provided by the first radio resource. The wireless device may disable the first radio resource or modem based on completing the handover process.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE is connected to a wireless network on a first carrier frequency in a first frequency range that is associated with a lower data rate than a second carrier frequency in a second frequency range. In some aspects, the first frequency range may be associated with a first version of a radio access technology (RAT) and the second frequency range may be associated with a second version of the RAT. The UE may determine a bandwidth metric associated with the first carrier frequency in the first frequency range. The UE may display a first visual indicator associated with the first version of the RAT or a second visual indicator associated with the second version of the RAT based on the bandwidth metric. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: In a wireless network, a user equipment (UE) may support reflective quality of service (QoS), where QoS applied to uplink packets is implicitly derived from downlink packets. For example, when the UE receives a downlink packet that includes a reflective QoS (RQoS) indicator and a QoS flow identifier (QFI), the UE may apply the same QoS associated with the downlink packet to an uplink packet with one or more attributes that match the downlink packet. However, for a received downlink encapsulating security payload (ESP) packet that includes an RQoS indicator and a QFI, a modem cannot determine an uplink security parameters index (SPI) and downlink SPI pairing needed to enable RQoS because the uplink/downlink SPI pairing is known only by the upper layer. Accordingly, some aspects described herein enable the modem to learn uplink/downlink SPI pairings for ESP packets and thereby enable RQoS for ESP packets.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify that a radio resource control connection is to be established for evolved packet system fallback or inter radio access technology fallback from New Radio for a voice call. The UE may determine that an establishment cause received from a network access stratum (NAS) layer does not indicate high priority access. The UE may override the establishment cause such that the establishment cause indicates a mobile originated (MO) voice call based at least in part on determining that the establishment cause received from the NAS layer does not indicate high priority access. The UE may perform an access barring check of an MO voice call based at least in part on overriding the establishment cause such that the establishment cause indicates an MO voice call. Numerous other aspects are provided.
