Abstract: The apparatus may be a wireless device configured to transmit, for a network device, a first indication mapping each of a plurality of residual integrated phase noise powers (RIPNPs) to a corresponding number of subcarriers, receive, based on the first indication, a second indication of a number of subcarriers including a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS), receive, via one or more symbols, a transmission including a data signal and the PTRS over the number of subcarriers indicated in the second indication, and perform a demodulation of the data signal using a phase noise estimation based on the PTRS. The apparatus may be a network device configured to obtain, from a wireless device, the first indication, output, based on the first indication, the second indication, and transmit, via one or more symbols, the transmission including the data signal and the PTRS.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may apply a precoding operation to a downlink physical channel. The network node may obtain a plurality of coefficients associated with a non-linearity of the downlink physical channel in accordance with estimating a cross-correlation of a plurality of power delay profiles associated with the precoding operation. The network node may precode a physical downlink shared channel communication in accordance with a result of the precoding operation. The network node may transmit the plurality of coefficients via a physical downlink control channel communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive one or more non-linearity measurements, each non-linearity measurement being associated with a transmit antenna power amplifier. The UE may receive initial antenna information. The UE may select a first non-linearity cancellation algorithm from among a plurality of non-linearity cancellation algorithms based, at least in part, on the one or more non-linearity measurements and the initial antenna information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may indicate to a user equipment (UE) (e.g., in a downlink control message) a capability of the network entity to disable power amplifiers for downlink transmissions. In response to the capability indication, the UE may estimate and report to the network entity the delay spread and antenna array loss threshold of a downlink signal. Based on the reported delay spread and antenna array loss threshold, the network entity may determine a quantity of power amplifiers that may be disabled for downlink transmission without reducing the received signal power at the UE below a minimum threshold. The power amplifiers that the network entity disables may be the power amplifiers with input powers less than a threshold (e.g., less than a highest input power by a threshold).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications using a singular value decomposition (SVD) combiner precoder are described. The described techniques may enable a network entity to determine which streams of a set of multiple data streams to combine in the SVD combiner precoder to increase a lowest signal-to-noise ratio of the set of multiple data streams, and which streams of the multiple streams to leave separate. The network entity may determine a precoding matrix using a square matrix α, which may allow the network entity to dynamically combine (e.g., or not combine) data streams. The network entity may transmit an indication to a UE indicating which streams the network entity will combine and which streams the network entity will not combine. The UE may accordingly demodulate the non-combined streams with a relatively less complex demodulator and may demodulate the combined streams with a relatively more complex demodulator.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for wireless communication are provided. An example method may include transmitting, to a network node, information associated with a first quantity of effective downlink transmit (Tx) antennas associated with the UE. The example method may further include receiving, from the network node, a transmission indicative of a set of precoding functions for a set of Tx antennas associated with the network node, where each precoding function of the set of precoding functions is associated with a respective group of multiple Tx antennas of the set of Tx antennas associated with the network node, and where a second quantity of precoding functions is smaller than or equal to the first quantity of the effective downlink Tx antennas. The example method may further include receiving, from the network node, a second transmission based on the set of precoding functions.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow for a network entity such as a base station to configure odd modulation orders to be applied to downlink or uplink transmissions via signaling between the network entity and the UE. Initially, the network entity transmits a configuration to the UE indicating network support for communications using odd order modulation. Afterwards, the UE transmits, and the network entity receives, data in a signal using the odd order modulation. As a result, improved SPEF, PAPR reduction, and phase noise mitigation associated with odd order modulations may be realized through application of odd order modulations to data transmissions or receptions based on network support being configured for such odd order modulations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment may transmit, to a serving network entity, a message requesting a quantity of transmission layers scheduled to be used by one or more neighbor network entities for communication within a communication resource. In response, the user equipment may receive, from the serving network entity, an indication of the quantity of transmission layers scheduled to be used by one or more neighbor network entities for communication within the communication resource. The user equipment may apply the quantity of transmission layers for the communication resource to a rank-aware interference rejection algorithm and may use the rank-aware interference rejection algorithm to improve a noise covariance matrix estimation. When receiving a downlink message, from the serving network entity via the communication resource, the improved noise covariance matrix estimation may be used to mitigate interference at the communication resource.

Abstract: Various aspects are described herein for frequency dependent residual sideband (FDRSB) cancellation. A network node may measure an FDRSB distortion and may calculate a thermal noise based at least in part on the FDRSB distortion and a received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The network node may identify, based at least in part on the thermal noise, the FDRSB, and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), whether to enable or disable FDRSB cancellation at a user equipment (UE). The network node may transmit an FDRSB cancellation message that indicates for the UE to enable FDRSB cancellation or that indicates for the UE to disable FDRSB cancellation, and the UE may selectively perform FDRSB cancellation based at least in part on the FDRSB cancellation message. This may reduce UE processing resources, UE energy consumption, and latency at a demodulator of the UE.
