Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for cell measurement scheduling mode selection. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE), generally includes selecting a first scheduling mode for performing cell measurements while the UE is in an idle state, in response to detecting at least one first triggering condition based on a comparison of a serving cell measurement to one or more neighbor cell measurements and performing cell measurements in accordance with the first scheduling mode, wherein the UE performs cell measurement more frequently when the first scheduling mode is selected than when a second scheduling mode is selected.

Abstract: A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a discontinuous reception (DRX), e.g., connected mode DRX (CDRX), and the UE may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) set to perform an SSB warm-up to wake up, search, and measure the SSB set to improve the performance of the UE during a DRX ON duration. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may identify one or more candidate beams that have a better channel metric than a serving beam. The UE may initiate a beam switch measurement counter, and perform one or more measurements on the identified candidate beams. In the event that one of the candidate beams is better than the serving beam for each measurement of the one or more measurements, the UE may perform a beam switch procedure to switch from the serving beam to the candidate beam.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) configured to schedule resource management procedures including measurements and tracking loop procedures. In some examples, the UE includes at least one antenna pair and two or more receivers. The UE may be configured to determine a plurality of combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers, where each component carrier is associated with a particular frequency. The UE may further be configured to schedule measurements/tracking loop procedures to available receivers first and utilize a selection algorithm to select combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers and map the selected combinations to the remaining of the available receivers to perform tracking loop procedures. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to improving user equipment (UE) mobility performance are provided. A wireless communication device camps on a first cell operating on a first carrier frequency. The wireless communication device receives, from the first cell, cell selection priority information indicating a priority for each of a plurality of carrier frequencies. The wireless communication device evaluates each of two or more candidate cells over an evaluation time duration associated with each candidate cell, wherein an end time of the evaluation time duration of a candidate cell associated with a lower priority carrier frequency is configured to be after an end time of the evaluation time duration of a candidate cell associated with a higher priority carrier frequency. The first wireless communication device selects a second cell from the two or more candidate cells for camping based at least in part on the evaluation of the second cell.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for estimating a channel using soft-windowing. A user equipment (UE) may determine, based on a cyclic prefix (CP) length of a channel, a timing window for sampling reference signals transmitted on the channel, determine a set of weights to apply to samples obtained within the determined timing window, wherein each weight corresponds to a sample obtained within the determined window, and estimate the channel by applying the weights to the samples.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to enhancing data communication performance in a wireless communication network including a first subscription associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second subscription associated with a second RAT, where the wireless communication device uses a same radio frequency (RF) resource to communicate over both the first RAT and the second RAT. The first RAT is used, in part, for data operations while the second RAT is used, in part, for voice operations. During idle state voice operations, the RF resource is reallocated from performing data operations to performing idle state voice operations, causing interruptions in the data operations. The wireless communication device adjusts at least one or a duration and an occurrence of the idle state voice operations to reduce the impact on the data operations.
