Abstract: There is proposed a laminated composite structure (6) having a plurality of laminae (7) formed of composite material, and at least one reinforcing pin (1) provided within the structure so as to extend between adjacent laminae (7). The or each pin (1) has a core (2) and an abrasive outer coating (3) provided around the core. A related method for reinforcing a laminated composite structure is also proposed.

Abstract: There is proposed a reinforcing pin for reinforcing a laminated composite structure, the reinforcing pin being formed from a plurality of fibres in a polymeric matrix, each of the fibres having the form of a helix extending along the length of the reinforcing pin. A related reinforced composite structure and a related method for producing the pin are also proposed.
