Abstract:
The present invention provides a solar energy collecting and converting system comprising a plurality of segmented reflective elements such as mirrors forming a trough shape structure. These reflective elements are attached to the glass top of a metal box. The solar cells are placed at the bottom of the box and heat sinks are placed underneath the solar cells. Further, the segmented reflective mirrors are attached to a rod at the bottom for additional support. In a variation of the system, the solar cells are replaced with an insulated container comprising light absorbing material at the bottom of the panel. A glass window on the top of insulated container lets the solar light pass through and heat the light absorbing material. The small size of the window does not let the heat radiate from the insulated container through the window and improves the performance of the whole system.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a wrist watch that offers immediate access to regularly updated content of a previously selected group of web pages without requiring it to keep continually connected to the network. The concept takes advantage of the portability and convenience of a wrist watch and aggregates to it a customizable web browsing capability. A carefully designed power management scheme harmonizes the need of frequent data update with the small footprint of the watch. The update schedule is user-customizable and once connected to the network, the watch behaves exactly like a typical portable web-browsing device.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses imaging technology. More particularly, it relates to portable devices for providing scanned images. In one aspect, the invention provides a scanner that is able to scan a 3 to 4 inch wide area such as for scanning business cards, sales receipts, etc.
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a display screen where pixels are addressed by a scanning LASER. The screen performs as a photo-amplifier circuit, producing light output at the region being illuminated by the LASER. This illumination produces electron-hole pairs forming two small currents, one of which subsequently results in a much larger electron or hole current from a specific region of the photo-amplifier. This larger current reaches an emitting region where recombination with other electrons or holes produces light. The duration of the light output is increased up to a frame period or more by increasing the duration of the larger current using various materials having properties that prolong recombination of electrons and holes in a specific device region. In another instance, a feedback effect is utilized by using the incident output light, which may be filtered, replacing the scanning LASER that has left the pixel.
Abstract:
A simplified method of file management which assigns many related attributes to any file created by conventional software application programs, with the ability to retrieve any file or a list of such files belonging to any attribute is provided. Software objects are represented by icons, whereby these icons represent topics about which each file is related and upon performing various graphical query searches using the mathematical theory of intersecting sets for desired files, a list of all files appears in a window. When commands like "save", "save as" or open file" are executed, icons and (or) groups of icons appear in a data base window and any icon can be selected related to the file. Hard links exist enabling a predetermined chain of groups or categories to be linked with any file saved, enabling a more elaborate data base system.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of manufacturing a diaper that has multiple moisture sensing elements on interior side of its bottom impermeable layer or on any surface of the top permeable layer. The moisture sending elements are made by spraying conductive ink on a moving sheet of either the bottom impermeable layer or the top permeable layer, before other layers of the diaper are attached. Spraying of conductive ink on the moving sheet causes parallel lines of conductive inks to be formed on the layer. The parallel lines of conductive ink run through the entire length of either of the layers and are designed to get connected with a detecting device. When a user urinates inside the diaper, the moisture causes a closed circuit between at least two of the parallel lines of conductive inks. These formations of closed circuits, between parallel lines of conductive inks, are detected by the detecting device. Also, with increasing volume of moisture, the resistance of the closed circuits also tends to decrease. This rate of decrease of resistance is also detected by the detecting device and is used to calculate a volume of moisture present in the diaper. The detecting device then generates a suitable alarm to give an idea about the saturation level of the diaper. The process of manufacturing sensing elements by spraying conductive inks on moving sheet of layer reduces the processing and modification overhead of specially designed conductive ink printers and also does not impact the manufacturing time of a diaper manufacturing assembly line.
Abstract:
“Incontinence detection system” is the title of our invention, described herein, which is designed to work along with any commercially available brief, for people having incontinence issues. The purpose of this complete incontinence management system is to provide a cost-effective solution by using sensor technology that automatically alerts caregivers to change the residents' diapers at precisely the right time. It uses a sensing system that wirelessly transmits individual wetness alerts to an application on a remote device. The system is ready for immediate use when detached from the soaked diaper, and brief changes are made at appropriate times offering the highest level of care to residents. The Pod allows for faster service delivery, less time spent in a wet brief, bringing great relief to residents and caregivers alike.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for cooking the foodstuff in a pressurized steam oven with the foodstuff being steam cooked in the first stage and seared in the next stage. The method automatically identifies the time of the first stage (slow) cooking and the time of the second stage (fast) cooking based on the type, size, temperature, and 3D image of the foodstuff. The slow cook is stopped before the foodstuff reaches the critical temperature by an amount determined by various parameters and next, the fast cook of searing is started. The slow cook method can be a pressurized steam cooking method. The method automatically reduces the time of the slow cooking so that the internal temperature of the food does not prematurely reach the critical temperature. The method helps in avoiding overcooking the foodstuff during the searing stage.
Abstract:
A motorized personal transportation article is described which transports a person by wearing a pair of power-assisted motorized shoes, wherein the shoes provide an increase in a user's walking speed in a forward walking action through supplementary motion of moving or propelling means based on an intended walking speed of the user, such that when a user's intended walking speed changes or when a user intends to substantially decelerate or immobilize, the speed of the supplementary motion can be adjusted before the step is completed. The sole of each of the shoes houses at least one plate coupled to moving or propelling means such as conveyor assemblies, and the moving or propelling means are designed to neutralize forces acting to disrupt the operation of the moving or propelling means during a forward walking action or the balance and comfort of the user.
