摘要: Systems and methods for processing input media in a computing device are described. In one aspect, a reconstructed frame is cached according to a set of criteria. A request to scrub to a predictive frame of input media is received. Responsive to receiving the request, the predictive frame is decoded starting with the reconstructed frame.

摘要: Methods and systems enable content authors to achieve frame-accurate editing and, in at least some embodiments, reduce the amount of content that needs to be decompressed in order to operate on the frames. Some embodiments ensure that bit rate integrity is preserved so that bit rate conditions associated with streaming environments are preserved. Various embodiments intelligently determine which content portions should be decompressed, processed, and recompressed and which content portions should not be decompressed.

摘要: Systems and methods for resolving a partial topology are disclosed. In one embodiment a media engine includes a topology loader module that receives a partial topology from another module associated with the media engine. The topology loader implements logic operations that convert a partial topology into a full topology, which may be returned to the media engine for presentation of the media stream(s) to a user.

摘要: Communication information is sent to a device that a user is using rather than a device the user is not using. For example, a backlight of a device can be monitored and if the backlight becomes inactive (turns off) for longer than a predetermined interval, it can be inferred that the user is no longer using the device and communications are no longer sent to the device. If the backlight becomes active (turns on) for longer than a predefined interval it is inferred that the user is active on the device and communications are sent to the device. If intrinsic evidence is of a high confidence level that the user is using the device, such as answering a phone call or sending a communication, the device is declared active without waiting for expiration of the confirmation timer.

摘要: Data usage of a messaging application is mitigated based on a location of the application on the display screen or a mode of a device. If the location of the application is in the foreground of the display, presence update information of a contact is periodically received or requested. If the application is in the background of the display longer than a predetermined interval, the presence update information of the contact is stopped. In some embodiments, if the device is in an OFF or a SUSPEND mode, contact presence updates are not received. When the device is in an ON mode or state, the presence updates are received or requested from a server or presence agent.

摘要: Methods for retrieving and transmitting data associated with a social network of an entity through short message service (SMS) protocol are disclosed herein. A system for transmitting the data through SMS protocol is also disclosed. In one embodiment, input is transmitted through SMS from a cellular telephone to a database, data related to the input is retrieved from the database, and the retrieved data is transmitted through SMS protocol to the cellular telephone. The transmitted data may be presented to a user as a representation on the cellular telephone, for example. The representation may comprise a profile of the entity and/or a profile of another entity associated with the entity's social network, for example.
