    摘要: In general, a method performed on a personal base station includes transmitting a first pilot signal to a portable access terminal operating in an idle mode in a macrocell that uses a first carrier frequency. The first pilot signal is transmitted in the first carrier frequency to allow the portable access terminal to temporarily connect to the first pilot signal. A second pilot signal is transmitted in a second frequency that is different than the first frequency. The portable access terminal is dispelled from the first pilot signal, and the portable access terminal is allowed to connect to the second pilot signal.

    摘要: A string trimmer having an elongate shaft, a cutting head rotatably mounted on one end of the elongate shaft, at least one cutting member which extends from the cutting head, and a barrier which is capable of being used by an operator to move vegetation away from a path swept out by the cutting member when it rotates. The barrier is in the shape of a truncated sphere, and forms a broad band. There is further provided a guard on the string trimmer mounted on the elongate shaft which surrounds part of the rear of the path swept out by the cutting member as it rotates, wherein the barrier is mounted on the guard.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and system of setting transmitter power levels, particularly in a Local Network Node transmitter, providing a pico cell for private use. A User Equipment (UE) is used to make measurements of the transmission link properties, such as downlink power and round trip time. Based on the measurements made at one or a plurality of locations, the power of the Local Network Node can be determined such that interference is minimized with any overlying cells of a macro-network. Call handovers between the UE and the cell of a macro network can also be arranged based on properties measure by the UE.

    摘要: A method of controlling total jet pressure from the head of a metallurgical lance for introducing gas into a volume of metal in a vessel. The lance head has at least one ejector, which has a nozzle located in a bore of the lance head and has an annular gas passage between at least one nozzle and the wall of the bore. The method proceeds by adjusting the annular gas velocity from a first Mach number to a second mach number to effect change of the total jet pressure.
