摘要: An apparatus for generating a combustible gas flame above a surface of a liquid. The apparatus may include a manifold including a manifold space that is completely or partially positioned within the liquid and a combustible gas source. Combustible gas from the gas source may be delivered to the manifold space and delivered into the liquid or a space above the liquid. The combustible gas may then be ignited to create a combustible gas flame. The combustible gas may also be mixed with air or liquid prior to delivery to the manifold space. In addition, a pump may be included to pump a supply of liquid out a liquid outlet to create a desired effect. Alternatively, the apparatus may be disposed on a float on the surface of the liquid.

摘要: An apparatus and method for modifying the appearance of a flame to maximize the size of the flame for a given amount of fuel, increase a burn rate efficiency of the flame, or change the shape of the flame. The shape and size of the flame may be modified by applying a secondary source of fluid to the flame. The secondary source of fluid may cause turbulent fluid flow within the combustion chamber enclosure in which the flame is produced to change the appearance of the flame. The secondary source of fluid may be generated by a blower or fan and may include, for example, a source of fresh combustion air, additional flammable gas such as natural gas, or other fluid additives for enhancement of the flame color, shape, and size.

摘要: A sauna fireplace assembly that includes an outer enclosure, a combustion chamber enclosure, and a housing. The combustion chamber enclosure is positioned within the outer enclosure and defines a combustion chamber wherein heat is generated. The housing is positioned in contact with a panel of the combustion chamber enclosure and is configured to house a plurality of heat retaining members. An opening into the housing is accessible through the outer enclosure for access to the heat retaining members. Heat generated in the combustion chamber is passed to the heat retaining members and then radiated from the heat retaining members into a living space such as a sauna enclosure. A portion of the housing may be exposed within the combustion chamber for improved heat transfer to the heat retaining members.

摘要: A hydronic heating system that includes a liquid-filled conduit and a combustion chamber enclosure having a plurality of panels that define a combustion chamber for the combustion of fuel to generate heat. At least one of the panels and a portion of the liquid-filled conduits are integrally formed together. The at least one panel absorbs heat generated in the combustion chamber and transfers the absorbed heat to the liquid in the conduit. The heated liquid may be transferred to a remote location where the heat is removed from the liquid using a heat exchanger. The at least one panel and the portion of the liquid-filled conduit may be integrally formed using a moldable material such as a ceramic fiber and a binder, and molded using such processes as compression molding or vacuum molding. The use of moldable may reduce condensation in or around the combustion chamber enclosure.

摘要: A heating appliance includes an outer enclosure including a transparent front panel, a combustion chamber enclosure, and a variable speed blower. The combustion chamber enclosure is positioned within the outer enclosure and defines a combustion chamber wherein radiant heat is generated. The combustion chamber enclosure also includes a transparent front panel. The blower is configured to generate an adjustable airflow between the outer enclosure front panel and the combustion chamber enclosure front panel and to exhaust the airflow to a remote location. The airflow absorbs at least some of the radiant heat and varying a speed of the blower controls an amount of radiant heat transferred from the combustion chamber to a living space in which the heating appliance is exposed.

摘要: A heating appliance that includes an enclosure defining a combustion chamber, an ember support member, a plurality of translucent artificial embers, a burner, and a light source. The embers are disposed upon the ember support member. The burner is coupled to a source of combustible fuel and is positioned vertically above the ember support member. The burner is also at least partially surrounded by and in contact with the embers to reduce viewability of the burner. The light source is positioned vertically below the ember support member and produces light that illuminates the embers.

摘要: An air filtration and sterilization system for removing airborne contaminants from air circulated through an air plenum system of a fireplace. Air filtration systems may include particulate, chemical, and ion filtration systems to filter the air. Air sterilization may include ultraviolet, ozone, germicidal coating, and channeled system of ducts systems to sterilize the air. Systems may be used individually or in combination. In addition, optional components, including a warning sensor for indicating when to replace a filter, an automatic initiation sensor for activating and stopping filtration and sterilization, and an air enhancement system for introducing desirable materials into the air, may be provided.

摘要: An aerodynamically designed wing attachment for use with a pool brush that can be mounted in several locations: directly to top of brush; to an adapter in between the brush and pole; or attached directly or indirectly to pole. The pressure of the water on the wing forces the pool brush to remain continuously in contact with the sides and bottom of a pool. What used to take 20 to 30 minutes of bodily strength and struggle with prior art, now affords the user to complete this very manageable task in 5 minutes. In prior art, force must be applied in a sideways and downward motion during the process of brushing the sides or bottom of a swimming pool. The products on the market today are made of materials which are of little substance and are not as effective or precise in holding the brush against the sides or bottom of a swimming pool thus requiring bodily strength and force to function.

摘要: A self-tensioning handle for use with endoscopic devices is disclosed. The handle may have mounting features for mounting a sheath and a control rod from an endoscopic device, such as a grasper or a retrieval basket. One mounting feature, such as a pin vise to hold a sheath, may be mounted in a distal portion of the handle, nearer a patient. Another mounting feature for a control rod or cannula of the endoscopic device is preferably mounted in a proximal portion of the handle. The handle is assembled with a tension or a pre-load so that a surgeon is not required to continually grip and compress the handle to retain a sample in the retrieval basket or other end-effector used with the handle.
