    摘要： A medicament injection apparatus that permits injection of a fluid medicament into a patient through a needle. The medicament injection apparatus includes a timer and a display, the timer being actuated upon commencement of an injection operation, in which the timer runs to a predetermined time until completion of the injection operation and the display is operated while the timer runs. Thus, informing a user of when a required period for dispersal of an injected medicament has lapsed so that the user knows when to withdraw a needle from the body after the injection.

    摘要： An injection device for injection of a medicament from a first medicament cartridge (40) is disclosed. The injection device comprises a drive mechanism (42) for selectively dispensing the medicament from the first medicament cartridge (40), a dial dose mechanism (12, 14) by which a user may determine a required dose of medicament to be dispensed, an electronic control unit for controlling the operation of the drive mechanism (42) in response to the dial dose mechanism (12, 14) and a display panel (10). When an insufficient amount of medicament remains in the first medicament cartridge (40) to enable the required dosage to be dispensed, the insufficient amount of medicament may be dispensed at the discretion of the user, the electronic control unit storing a value corresponding to a difference between the required dose and the insufficient amount of medicament, the value being presented to the user on the display panel (10) as a first amount of medicament to be dispensed from a replacement medicament cartridge following replacement of the first medicament cartridge (40) with the replacement medicament cartridge.

    摘要： A drive mechanism for an injection device is disclosed in which piston means are selectively driven to expel medicament from within a medicament cartridge. The drive mechanism comprises a drive means associated with a first ratchet member, a second ratchet member associated with the piston means, a housing, the first ratchet member and the second ratchet member being disposed within the housing. The second ratchet member being biased by biasing means toward the first ratchet member. The drive means is actuable reciprocally to drive the first ratchet member in a first angular direction such that the first ratchet member drives the second ratchet member along its longitudinal axis against the biasing means along at least a part of its movement and subsequently drives the first ratchet member and the second ratchet member together in a second angular direction thereby to drive the piston means.
