摘要： A slide mechanism for providing non-binding adjustment of the spacing between the components of an elongated structural member such as the vertical and horizontal frame members of a door or window frame for accommodating different buck widths during installation. The slide mechanism comprises a channel member and a tongue member adapted to slideably engage one another in loosely fitting relation to preclude binding during width adjustment. Each frame member is preferably provided with at least two such sliding mechanisms of which preferably one provides a dimpled channel member for assuring precise transverse registry of the frame components. By dimpling only one such channel member, a degree of non-binding angular or rotational motion between frame components is provided to facilitate easy installation.

摘要： A method of making a screw threaded fastener (1, 10) for fixing cladding to a building includes the steps of applying a mastic covering (5, 15) to a screw threaded portion (4, 13) of the fastener, and applying a non-sticky protective coating (6, 16) to the outside of the mastic covering (5, 15) so as to prevent the fasteners (1, 10) from sticking together during handling and packaging of the same. Preferably the protective coating (6, 16) is as coating of a waxy substance and is applied to the outside of the mastic covering (5, 15) by means of a dipping or spraying process or operation. The fasteners are then easy to use and form a water-tight, moisture and vapor-proof seal with respect to their supports or substrates. The waxy coating (16) may also be applied to the drill point (12) so as to act as a lubricant during driving of the fastener.

摘要： Apparatus and method for thermoforming two or more plastics sheets simultaneously, to form in one operation a double-walled cup, or a composite walled cup, or a plurality of single-walled cups. The sheets are moved and heated simultaneously, the portion not being thermoformed being kept apart, permitting economy of scrap remelting. The thermoformed portions can be kept apart by pressure between the sheets, which can serve to hotform the sheets against respective mould surfaces, or air pressure can bond the sheets together. Existing machines need substantially only an additional clamping plate, heater, and compressed air passing through a radial port in a clamping plate, to incorporate the invention.

摘要： It is known for colored plastics caps to be pushed by a customer onto heads of metal screws, after the screws have been secured to sheets of colored cladding or roofing. It is also known for the caps to be molded around the screw heads by a manufacturer. In the present invention, a screw/cap assembly is formed by bonding an initially separate cap onto the head of a screw by means of an adhesive, such as an epoxy resin sufficiently strong to allow the screw to be driven while the cap is in place. The intention is that the manufacturer would maintain stocks of the caps and stocks of the screws of different types, and only secure predetermined caps onto the heads of predetermined screws in response to specific orders from customers.

A one way clutch mechanism allows the bar to be raised but unless released, locks the bar against downward movement in order to support the load placed upon the bar. The clutch mechanism is released by a button inconspicuously located at the top of the bar. The entire clutch mechanism is carried by the extension bar. The standard is not in any manner altered for cooperation with the mechanism.

摘要： A stackable thin-walled cup is designed to absorb telescoping loads with less risk of jamming and is for use in beverage dispensing machines with an ingredient held in the cup. As shown in FIG. 2 an ingredient is retained in the base 11 of the cup 1 which has an inward projecting annulus 6 with upper and lower surfaces 8 and 7 arranged to cooperate with surfaces 4 and 5 of an outwardly projecting annulus at the base of a second stacked cup. Surfaces 4 and 7 form a seal to prevent loss of ingredient and the two surfaces are held in contact by a force due to abutment between surfaces, 9 and 10 of respective cups. By suitable difference in linear dimension between surface 7 and abutment 10 and surface 4 and abutment 9 a force is produced by tension derived from the cup walls to hold the surfaces 4 and 7 together. Telescopic shock loads produce compression on the abutments 9 and 10 and momentarily separate surfaces 4 and 7 which re-engage on removal of the load.

摘要： A spring pivot joint comprises two face plates with heavy serrations or ribs between them, both sandwiched between Belville springs or spring washers, the washers being held in a strongly stressed condition by a hollow rivet. The face plates have integral wings or tabs extending radially beyond the washers for attachment to the companion mannequin parts to be jointed. Since the rivets are hollow, a simple rod can extend through a plurality of them to hold them in coaxial alignment while being attached to the jointed mannequin parts.
