摘要: A fluid chamber (20) for a shoe may be formed using pressure channels (190) in a forming mold (100A), eliminating the need to insert a nozzle or needles into the chamber for inflation. A fluid chamber so formed may have a smaller seal area than a chamber formed using an inflation needle, making the chamber more visually pleasing. Apparatus and methods for forming a fluid chamber in this fashion are disclosed.

摘要: A free-standing plastic livestock confinement system includes hollow plastic panels assembled together to provide interconnected walls that create confinement areas. One of the walls provides a door opening and a door that can be closed across the opening. The door is a hollow plastic panel with an opening for an animal to place its head through for access to food. The door is molded with a bucket holder and the opening in the door over the bucket holder. The bucket holder is recessed such that a bucket received in the bucket holder will extend partially into the confinement area.

摘要: A molding process is disclosed in which an extruded column of plastic is introduced into a mold cavity having a predetermined surface profile. A region of negative air pressure is created inside the mold cavity, exterior to the extruded column. The negative air pressure is applied to the exterior of the extruded column to draw the extruded column into contact with the entire surface profile of the mold cavity, to produce a molded article. The invention can also include a step of co-extruding multiple types of plastic resulting in an extruded column having multiple layers, to produce a molded article having multiple layers. The present method also includes a step of internally inserting a component into the extruded column at a predetermined position so that it will end up at a predetermined position of the molded article after the molding process.

摘要: A method of cold-forming a thermoplastic sheet to provide a circular container part such as a lid or dish comprising the steps of engaging a sheet of thermoplastic material between opposing concentric die members, drawing the sheet around the circular edge of one of the die members to provide a concentric central portion and a concentric annular depending skirt having a proximal edge adjacent the central portion, an intermediate portion, and a distal free edge, provide an annular void in the die members adjacent the skirt, then moving the free edge toward the proximal edge while holding the proximal edge to buckle the said intermediate portion into the void. In the apparatus, the void has a tapered surface inclining radially outwardly and axially toward the proximal edge to hold the free edge radially inwardly, thereby to permit the intermediate portion to buckle outwardly into the void.

[Also in Groups VIII and X] A light-transmitting ceiling panel comprises upper and lower dimpled sheets 1, 3 of light transmitting plastic united for example by heat sealing, at the bottoms 11 of the dimples to opposite faces of an intermediate sheet 2 of light transmitting plastic, the dimples of the upper sheet 1 being located opposite the dimples of the lower sheet 2, and the side walls 13 and bottoms 11 of the dimples being thinner than the remaining parts of the dimpled sheets. The sheets 1, 3 are of flanged dished form with the dimples formed in the bottom wall 9 of the dished portion, the flanges 4 being united to opposite sides of the margin of the intermediate sheet 2. The flanges 4 may be dispensed with. Holes 12 may be formed through the bottoms of the dimples and the intermediate sheet 2 within the areas where the bottoms of the dimples are united to the intermediate sheet. The sheets may be formed of polyvinylchloride.
