摘要: A machine readable code on a label of a pill or imprinted directly thereon. The code may be used to track the identity of the pill for purposes of avoiding mix-up or trademark violations. The code has patterns whose resolution is too small for the unaided eye to discern.

摘要: Method and identification system to keep track of individual pills dispensed to patients in a hospital by scanning a machine readable code assigned to each pill individually. The pills may be individually within single-pill containers. Inventory levels may be adjusted based on the scanning. Prior to dispensing the pills, a verification check may be performed.

摘要: A folding knife includes a handle defining a knife receiving chamber and including first and second inner plates disposed in spaced relation between a pair of outer plates. The folding knife also supports a blade having a tip end and a tang end that is pivotally attached to the handle and is pivotable between a retracted position where the blade is disposed in the knife receiving chamber and an extended position where the blade resides outside of the handle. The first inner plate has a slot formed therein so as to define a lock member that has a locking edge that is biased inwardly towards the blade and having an extension projecting outwardly from the locking edge. When the blade is in the extended position, the locking edge moves into a locking arrangement abutting against the tang end of the blade, with the extension being constructed to prevent the locking edge from inadvertently slipping from its abutting relationship with the tang end of the blade to ensure that the blade is securely held open in the extended position.

摘要: A clinching assembly for use with an insertion machine of the type used to form and insert the lead-wires of an electronic component into openings of a printed circuit board insertion machine. The clinching assembly includes two clinch heads that are selectively movable along a U-axis, parallel to the circuit board. Each clinching assembly is further selectively movable along a Z-axis, perpendicular to the circuit board. A single pneumatic actuator is used to raise and lower both clinch heads simultaneously. A T-shaped linkage attaches each clinch head with the single pneumatic actuator. Vertical movement of the pneumatic actuator is translated through the T-shaped linkage to vertically displace both clinch heads, and simultaneously, allow horizontal displacement of each clinch head, independent of the vertical location of the T-shaped linkage.

摘要: A valve is provided for use with a pressurized dispenser of the type intended for both upright and inverted operation. The valve includes a valve body having an inclined inverting fluid chamber which houses a weighted ball. A pick-up tube is connected to each end of the inclined chamber, one is directed to the lower end of the container and the other to the upper end. The ball is movable within the inclined chamber between one end and the other and is adapted to close off one of the inlets, depending on which end it is located. External forces such as gravity or those forces developed during shaking or swirling movement of the container influence the location of the ball within the chamber. A stem portion of the valve includes an upper nozzle output and a lower divider portion. The divider is adapted to enter the inclined chamber during depression of the stem and retain the immediate location of the ball (one end or the other) prior to the valve opening. The ball's movement is prevented regardless of any external forces acting on the valve.

摘要: An analog clock is provided having three hands for indicating hours, minutes, and seconds. An hours hand is positioned in a conventional manner, rotating at an hours rate around a central point. A minutes hand is located at any satellite point along the hours hand except the central point and rotates about this satellite point at a minutes rate. A seconds hand is located anywhere along either the minutes hand or the hours hand and rotates at a seconds rate.
