    摘要: A lift system for individually elevating one or more harvesting units of a cotton harvester through a range of movement extending between an operational position and a raised position while maintaining other harvesting units in an operational position relative to the harvester. The lift system includes a source of actuating fluid, a fluid pressure actuator connected to each harvesting unit for elevating a respective harvesting unit, and a control system connected between the source of actuating fluid and each fluid pressure actuator for selectively controlling the elevation of the harvesting units relative to the chassis of the harvester. The control system includes ground sensors for individually maintaining the harvesting units in a preselected elevational position relative to the harvester. The control system further includes a series of electro/hydraulic valves for independently interrupting and effectuating the flow of actuating fluid to the fluid pressure actuators thereby providing independent control over elevation of the harvesting units.

    摘要: A hydraulic drive system for driving component parts such as harvesting units of a cotton harvester head assembly. The hydraulic drive system includes a source of actuating fluid and fluid pressure actuators for driving the harvesting units independently of each other. Suitable conduit structure connects each fluid pressure actuator to the source of actuating fluid. The conduit structure is preferably flexible to facilitate transverse positioning of the harvesting units on the head assembly. A control valve assembly is connected to the conduit structure and is operably interposed between the source of actuating fluid and the fluid pressure actuators for selectively interrupting and effectuating the supply of actuating fluid from the source of actuating fluid and each of the fluid pressure actuators thereby influencing operation of the harvesting units.

    摘要: A discharge conveyor system for a cotton harvester which removes a commingled mixture of ripe and green bolls from cotton plants during a harvesting operation. The discharge conveying system includes duct structure having an inlet arranged proximate to an outlet on a harvesting head assembly from which the commingled mixture of harvested materials pass. An air system directs an air stream through the duct structure such that ripe or lighter bolls are drawn into the duct structure while heavier or green bolls fall from the outlet of the harvesting head assembly. A basket is mounted on the harvester for receiving the green bolls and includes a floor comprised of a plurality of louvers which combine with each other, in one position, to hold green bolls in the basket, and are movable to a second position wherein the louvers are arranged relative to each other for purposes of boll discharge. A conveyor assembly gravitationally receives and conveys green bolls away from the inlet to the duct structure thereby preventing them from interfering with the lighter bolls flowing into the duct structure.

The large wheel has an axle protruding from each side, wherein the outbound side has a frame attached to the axle and a seat attached to the frame. The rail side of the axle connects to a second rail acting as a pilot/guide for the travel of the large wheel. A third rail and interconnections provide structural rigidity for the rail assembly. The riders fly through a roller coaster layout sitting only in a seat, facing the passing environment head on at high speeds, thereby experiencing a free flight sensation. A people mover embodiment adds a motor to the wheel to move the wheel along a relatively flat layout. An optional flip means functions to selectively engage the axle with the rotating large wheel (nominally via a reduction gear) to flip the riders 360°. Optionally a group of large wheels can be coupled together to form a train.

    摘要: A resilient, torque-transmitting coupling is utilized to coaxially interconnect driving and driven shafts. The coupling has a hollow outer member whose interior surface circumscribes an axis and has a square cross-section. An inner member having a slightly smaller square cross-section is axially received in the outer member and defines therein a square cross-sectioned cavity which laterally circumscribes the inner member. The cavity is filled with a resilient urethane material which is bonded to the laterally facing surfaces of the inner and outer coupling members. Corner portions of the inner member cooperate with the flat interior side surface portions of the outer member to limit relative axial rotation between the inner and outer members to thereby torsionally stress the urethane essentially entirely in tension and compression, and to prevent torsional "spin-out" between the inner and outer members. Because the urethane is bonded to each of the coupling members, its entire volume is efficiently utilized to resiliently resist relative displacement between the inner and outer coupling members. The coupling may be conveniently formed by pouring liquid urethane into the internal cavity and then suitably hardening and curing the urethane in place within the coupling. In one applicational embodiment, the coupling is incorporated in a replacement drive shaft section of a diesel truck drive train and functions to prolong the operating life of the drive train while at the same time significantly reducing the amount of drive train torsional shock and vibration transmitted to the driver of the truck.

The big wheel's inbound axle is attached to a radius arm which is powered by a conventional rotating hub. The radius arms are pivotally connected to the hub to allow an up and down movement on a hilly track. The rider compartment has a magnetic coupler assembly to the axle to enable an automatic and/or a rider controlled head over heels spinning of the rider compartment while the big wheel is traveling in its circular path around the hub.

    摘要: A soil working implement for use in forming a raised soil bed is disclosed. The implement includes a carriage assembly and a plowing tool mounted for rotation on the carriage assembly. The plowing tool includes a cylindrical rim and an array of soil digging teeth rigidly secured to the rim and projecting radially with respect thereto for moving soil laterally relative to the line of travel of the implement. Each tooth is characterized by an inclined face slanting away from the direction of rotation of the rim and converging to form a cutting edge which is canted at an oblique angle with respect to the line of travel. A plurality of the plowing tools are mounted along a rotatable shaft which extends transversely with respect to the line of travel of the carriage assembly, and the cutting edges of the teeth in adjacent pairs of the plowing tools are oppositely canted with respect to each other for lifting and laterally displacing soil toward or away from the common center line of travel of the adjacent pair of tools. A method of tilling soil for farming a row crop in a field which can be carried out by the apparatus of the invention is also disclosed.
