摘要: Systems and methods for authenticating and validating a device are disclosed herein. In one method, a manifest file is created for a gaming component, wherein the manifest file includes contents of each file from the gaming component. A digital signature is generated for each file from the gaming component, wherein the digital signature is created by using the contents of each file. Each digital signature is saved with each file in the manifest file. A digital signature calculation is performed on a file accessed during a bootup process. The contents of the accessed file are validated by comparing the calculated digital signature to the saved digital signature, and an error message is presented on a video display when the contents of the accessed file is not validated.

摘要: There is disclosed a device, system, and method for a ROM BIOS based trusted encrypted operating system for use in a gaming environment. The gaming device includes a ROM storing a BIOS, a secure loader, an encrypted operating system, and a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted operating system. The decryption key is partitioned and scattered about the secure loader. The method includes initializing the BIOS, locating the decryption key, decrypting the encrypted operating system with the encryption key, verifying a plurality of check codes, and transferring control to the operating system. The check codes are verified responsive to decrypting the encrypted operating system. The check codes are dispersed about the operating system and are unrelated to the operating system. Control is transferred to the operating system responsive to verifying the check codes.

摘要: An integrated browser manager and networked gaming system that provides server based dynamic content onto a content display area of one or more gaming machines is disclosed. The system includes: a browser manager, one or more application servers connected to the browser manager by a server-to-server (S2S) server and S2S web service, and one or more gaming machines are connected to the browser manager by a game-to-server (G2S) server and G2S web service. The browser manager includes a user interface application and a core service, wherein the user interface application generates a user interface display on a user control station. Each gaming machine includes a network interface to receive external content from the application server via the browser manager, and a content display area for displaying the external content.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed to gaming systems, gaming devices, and methods for presenting tournament games. According to one embodiment, a gaming system for presenting tournament games includes a plurality of gaming devices in communication with a tournament server as well as a plurality of tournament displays positioned throughout a gaming establishment. Each gaming device is configured to enable concurrent play of a base game and an on-demand tournament game in which the on-demand tournament game is player initiated. The tournament server manages play of the on-demand tournament game, and the tournament server determines a location of active and eligible players for the on-demand tournament game. The plurality of tournament displays are positioned throughout a gaming establishment, and the tournament displays are also in communication with the tournament server. The tournament server sends tournament information to the tournament displays near the location of active and eligible players of the tournament game.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed to gaming systems, gaming devices, and methods for presenting tournament games. According to one method, a player tracking card is received at a gaming device. Tournament entry points are incremented as the base game is played. In one embodiment, tournament entry points are based on a predetermined percentage of a player's wager for base game play. The player is presented with one or more tournament games for play when the player has accumulated a sufficient number of tournament entry points. A tournament game selected by the player is initiated on a secondary display of the gaming device. In one embodiment, the secondary device has an embedded processor that is separate and distinct from a main processor of the gaming device. Once the tournament game is initiated, the player is presented with the option to have the tournament game automatically played. Accordingly, a player is able to play the base game while the tournament game is automatically played on the secondary display.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed to gaming systems, gaming devices, and methods for presenting tournament games. According to one embodiment, a gaming device provides a base game in a normal, non-tournament mode, and the player's eligibility to play a tournament game is also determined. An eligible player is prompted to select a desired tournament game from a list of available tournaments while base game is in the normal, non-tournament mode. In response to the player's selection of a tournament game, the gaming device is reconfigured from the normal mode to a tournament mode. The gaming device processes game play in the tournament mode and creates a final tournament score for the player. At the conclusion of the tournament game on the gaming device, the gaming device is reconfigured into the normal, non-tournament mode.

摘要: A gaming system and method for concurrently playing a base game and an associated tournament game is disclosed. The system includes one or more gaming machines that are capable of stand-alone base game play. The gaming machines are coupled to a network that enables players of the gaming machines to place side wagers against other players of other gaming machines in the gaming system. As players at the gaming machines play stand-alone base games, the players are concurrently offered an opportunity to engage in side wagers on tournament play against other players at the gaming machines using scores from play of the stand-alone base games.

The method includes: receiving incoming message queues, and after message receipt, processing the message and sending back reply message, if needed; converting incoming messages to a browser manager message with respect to browser manager schema and processing the commands; validating incoming message data with the available data in a database and if any inconsistent data found, building and sending a negative acknowledgement response back to a client; saving command data information that is determined to relevant tables in the database; logging information messages and error messages to log file; logging incoming and outgoing messages to log files, wherein messages are logged to a message log file, wherein a data table stores information about commands received, commands processed, commands sent to gaming machines, and responses received from gaming machines; and enabling an ID provider class to generate the required new ID from ID provider data table by incrementing the relevant key id based on category and key name.

摘要: Various embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a serial peripheral interface-based (SPI-based) BIOS system for improved upgrading of a BIOS software image in a gaming machine. The system includes a flash BIOS chip and a SPI BIOS chip. The flash BIOS chip is operable to be written to by an Intel chipset for storage of an onboard Ethernet controller's information, wherein the flash BIOS chip may contain a new BIOS software image. The SPI BIOS chip comprises a traditional BIOS including gaming extensions to the BIOS. The SPI BIOS chip can be disabled from write actions at a jumper/circuit level. When a SPI BIOS write enable jumper circuit is ON, a write protect pin of the serial peripheral interface BIOS is in the disabled state. In this regard, when the write protect pin is in the disabled state, the SPI BIOS content may be updated to the new BIOS software image from a BIOS install compact flash. When the BIOS write enable jumper circuit is OFF, the write protect pin of the serial peripheral interface BIOS is in enabled state. In this regard, when the write protect pin is in the enabled state the serial peripheral interface BIOS content cannot be updated
