    摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a pin joint component for a pin joint assembly that has improved wear surfaces, especially for those portions of the pin joint component surface that interface thrust rings, lips, and other adjacent wear components. The pin joint component comprises a first treated region that is formed by removing material from the wear surface of the pin joint component and replaced with clad material. Prior to this operation, a second treated region is formed by removing material from a section of the pin joint component distinct from the first treated region and performing a nitriding process thereon.

    摘要: A seal assembly can be incorporated into a track pin joint assembly including a pin defining a longitudinal axis, a first member and a second member both coaxial with the pin about the longitudinal axis. The first member is pivotable about the longitudinal axis with respect to the second member and includes a load ring engagement surface defining, at least in part, an axially-extending seal cavity disposed in proximal relationship to the second member. A seal assembly including a seal ring and a load ring is disposed in the seal cavity and sealingly engages the first member and the second member. At least one of a load ring engagement surface of the first member and an axial segment of a first member engagement surface of the load ring includes a convex rounded portion extending over at least half the axial length thereof.

    摘要: In the installation of underground utilities it is common to utilize an earthmoving machine, such as hydraulic excavator, to dig a trench and aid in the placement of the individual pipe segments that comprise a conduit or pipeline. Normal placement of the pipe segments requires communication between the excavator operator and laborer that is positioned adjacent the pipeline in the trench. As the pipe segments are lowered into position, the laborer insures a proper connection of each joint and the overall support beneath the pipeline. The requirement of another individual in the trench is both inefficient and represents a significant increase in the cost of laying the pipeline. The present invention utilizes a grapple assembly to grasp the individual pipe segments to maneuver them into and within the trench. The grip on the pipe segment is sufficient to permit its insertion into the unfinished pipeline. In addition the grapple assembly is provided with tong assemblies that are mounted in a manner sufficient to allow them avoid contact the bedding material upon release of the pipe segment so as not to disturb the support of the pipeline or they may be utilized in a manner to slightly alter the configuration of the bedding material in the trench to accommodate pipe segments of varying diameter.
