    摘要： A user interface for simultaneously representing tasks and notifications in a computing device. The user interface presents the tasks as reduced size representations of the output of the corresponding tasks which are continually updated. The user interface allows a user to bring a selected task to the foreground or to close the task, both by interacting with the representations of the tasks. The user interface further associates notifications with corresponding tasks by superimposing an icon of the notification on the representation of the corresponding task. The user interface orders and arranges the task representations and icons of the notifications according to certain layout rules.

    摘要： It is shown how to select and insert a non-textual, e.g. a smiley, into an application such as a chat application in a communication terminal. A smiley insertion area in the form of a hand writing input area is displayed under the control of a user interface application. After recording that a stylus, or similar device, has been used in drawing on the touch sensitive display, the drawing is matched in an interpretation process against a pattern library consisting of smileys and other non-textual symbols. After a successful match, the smiley symbol is appended to the text that is being input.

    摘要： A text input method is described for an electronic apparatus having a user interface with text input means and a display screen. Word completion functionality is provided for predicting word candidates for partial word inputs made by the user with the text input means. The method involves receiving a partial word input from the user and deriving a set of word completion candidates using the word completion functionality. Each of the word completion candidates in the set has a prefix and a suffix, wherein the prefix corresponds to the partial word input. The method also involves presenting the suffices for at least a sub set of the word completion candidates in a predetermined area on the display screen, wherein each of the presented suffices is made selectable for the user.
