Abstract: A remote diaphragm seal is provided. The remote diaphragm seal includes a flange coupled to a deflectable diaphragm configured to come into contact with a flow of process fluid along a first side of the diaphragm. The flange includes a fluidic passageway in fluidic communication with a second side of the deflectable diaphragm, the fluidic passageway including a substantially incompressible fluid. The flange also includes at least one additional passageway in fluidic communication with the first side of the deflectable diaphragm.

Abstract: A pressure-sensing system is presented. The pressure-sensing system comprises a single-use container. The pressure-sensing system comprises a disposable process connector configured to couple directly to the single-use container. The disposable process connector has a deflectable diaphragm. The pressure-sensing system comprises a pressure transducer. The pressure transducer is removably coupled to the disposable process connector. The pressure transducer comprises an isolation diaphragm positioned adjacent the deflectable diaphragm of the disposable process connector. The pressure transducer comprises a pressure sensor module operably coupled to the isolation diaphragm. The pressure transducer also comprises a controller coupled to the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to transmit a detected indication of pressure within the single-use container. A pressure transducer for a single-use container includes a polymeric housing and a base having an isolation diaphragm. A sensor module is coupled to the base, and has a pressure sensor operably coupled to the isolation diaphragm. Circuitry is disposed within the polymeric housing and coupled to the pressure transducer. The circuitry includes a microprocessor configured to obtain a pressure measurement from the pressure sensor and provide an output signal based on the measured pressure.

Abstract: A polymeric remote seal system is provided for coupling a single-use container to a pressure measurement instrument. The polymeric remote seal system includes a process-side coupling, an instrument-side coupling and a fluidic coupling therebetween. The process-side coupling is configured to couple to the single-use container and is formed of a radiation sterilizable polymer. The process-side coupling has a process-side deflectable diaphragm that is configured to deflect in response to pressure within the single-use container. The instrument-side coupling is configured to couple to the pressure measurement instrument and is formed of a radiation sterilizable polymer. The instrument-side coupling is configured to fluidically convey fluid pressure to an isolation diaphragm of the pressure measurement instrument. Tubing fluidically couples the process-side coupling to the instrument-side coupling.

Abstract: A single-use sensor interface for coupling a single-use container to a re-usable sensing instrument is provided. The single-use sensor interface includes a polymeric flange couplable to a wall of the single-use container. The polymeric flange has a sidewall and an interface portion configured to receive a deflectable polymeric diaphragm. A deflectable polymeric diaphragm is coupled to the interface portion of the polymeric flange. An instrument coupling portion is sealingly coupled to the polymeric flange. The instrument coupling portion is configured to couple to the re-usable sensing instrument. Another single-use sensor interface for coupling a single-use container to a re-usable sensing instrument includes a polymeric hose adapter and at least one instrument attachment portion. The polymeric hose adapter portion has at least one hose barb configured to retain a hose slid thereover. The hose adapter portion has at least one interface portion that is configured to receive a deflectable polymeric diaphragm. A deflectable polymeric diaphragm is coupled to the interface portion. At least one instrument attachment portion is coupled to the hose adapter portion. The at least one instrument attachment portion has a cylindrical sidewall.
