    Abstract: A data warehouse that operates to receive a spatial query and return a spatial result for the spatial query, the data warehouse comprises a regular database operating to receive and process a regular query and return a query result in response to the regular query. The data warehouse also comprises an interface layer implemented external to the regular database and operating to intercept the spatial query and translate the spatial query into the regular query for processing by the regular database. The regular database includes at least one spatial index that is accessed by the interface layer to translate the spatial query into the regular query for processing by the regular database.

    Abstract: An informative priors image search result summarization system and method that summarizes image search results based on the image relevance (as determined by a search engine's initial ranking) and the image quality. Embodiments of the system and method cluster the image search results, rank images within each cluster based on a computed image score, and then select a summary image for the cluster. Each cluster is analyzed and an image in the cluster having the maximum image score is included in a selected summary collection. The image score is computed using the image relevance and the image quality, as well as a cluster coherence, a density, and a diversity. The selection of images from a collection of candidate images generates an image search result summarization, which is presented to a user. The summaries are presented to the user in a ranked order based on their image scores.

    Abstract: For use with an asymmetrical half-bridge power converter having a primary switching circuit coupled to a primary winding of a transformer and a rectifier coupled to a secondary winding of the transformer, a reverse recovery circuit a method of operation thereof. In one embodiment, the reverse recovery circuit includes an inductor that reduces current spikes in the primary switching circuit caused by a reverse recovery phenomenon associated with the rectifier. The reverse recovery circuit also includes a diode, coupled to the inductor, that clamps a voltage across the rectifier.
