    摘要: A free piston Stirling cycle machine is illustrated by an engine that utilizes an axially movable displacer subjected to working gas pressures. A primary hydraulic circuit hydrostatically couples a displacer drive rod integral with the displacer to a counterbalance illustrated in the form of a scotch yoke. The counterbalance stabilizes and controls the Stirling cycle engine by constraining the displacer's reciprocating axial motion in a repetitive pattern. A throttling valve interposed in the primary hydraulic fluid circuit is used to adjustably resist displacer motion as required by engine operating conditions. A secondary hydraulic circuit is provided together with a bellows assembly between the working gas and power pistons to convert changes in working gas pressure to usable power output in the form of pumped hydraulic fluid.

    摘要: A Stirling Engine or Heat Pump having two relatively movable machine elements for power transmission purposes includes a hermetic seal bellows interposed between the elements for separating a working gas from a pressure compensating liquid that balances pressure across the bellows to reduce bellows stress and to assure long bellows life. The volume of pressure compensating liquid displaced due to relative movement between the machine elements is minimized by enclosing the compensating liquid within a region exposed to portions of both machine elements at one axial end of a slidable interface presented between them by a clearance seal having an effective diameter of the seal bellows. Pressure equalization across the bellows is achieved by a separate hermetically sealed compensator including a movable enclosed bellows. The interior of the compensator bellows is in communication with one side of the seal bellows, and its exterior is in communication with the remaining side of the seal bellows. A buffer gas or additional liquid region can be provided at the remaining axial end of the clearnace seal, along with valved arrangements for makeup of liquid leakage through the clearance seal.

The heat engine includes a temperature control heat pipe located around the periphery of the engine cylinder and a temperature distribution heat pipe located around the periphery of the heat source. A flywheel and bellows seal is included as part of the displacer piston drive, and a flexure support is positioned on the hot end of the displacer piston to allow the piston to move longitudinally while restricting lateral motion.

    摘要: An improved tone arm mounting system, for improved damping of tone arm system (100) vibrations. Tone arm system (100) is supported by tone arm pedestal (106). Adjuster screw (301) is affixed to the bottom of tone arm pedestal (106) so that adjuster screw axis of revolution (309) passes through or near tone arm system weight center of gravity (310). Adjuster screw (301), by threaded means, rotatably receives adjuster wheel (302), which is thin and is large in diameter, for easy access to its outer edge for manual or mechanical operation. Rotation of adjuster wheel (302) on adjuster screw (301) changes the height of tone arm pedestal (106) and thereby changes VTA (110). The tone arm system (100) is supported by arm board (206) without vertical connection to arm board (206) thereby damping mechanical vibrations and improving signal quality. A lightly loaded vibration damping washer (306) can be used between thrust bushing (307) and adjuster wheel (302) to damp or filter transfer of mechanical vibrations from tone arm system (100) to arm board (206) and back into tone arm system (100).
